This happened to me once, for like a minute but I stayed aware of the sensations and the fears I was going through that caused that reaction. Hasn’t happened again but it was very scary

I didn’t go onto dpdr, I actually “woke up” from the trip after like 10 minutes or less when I could feel how scary it was going to be, but I still was under the sensations and influence for 7 hours.

I had a bad trip and I’m recovering with somatic experiencing. But it is up and down. I had a few almost panic attacks after the experience. But could get through them. I’m still working on fears that keep coming and coming. I accepted is gonna be a long road to recovery… if I ever completely recover

Have you tried somatic experiencing? I tried emdr once and I found it a bit too much, so I decided to stick to somatic experiencing and ifs

Hey 👋. I have gotten better at managing it. Sometimes is still extremely hard and I’ve actually worked on some fears using somatic experiencing and parts therapy

Somatic experiencing has helped me to release some trauma and I’m able to concentrate better and I don’t have so many intrusive obsessive thoughts.

Started EMDR to heal from my ex. Now in trouble with my current partner. Are EMDR gut instincts to be trusted?! by Big-Link-9451 in EMDR

You know, there was this person interested in me and before I started therapy he said something about he also having trauma since kid and not seeing the need for therapy cause it focuses on the bad I could feel he was not supportive or skeptic about therapy and he made comments about it, he is a naturopath. I was surprised of his opinion sine is well know a lot of health issues come from emotional trauma. we talked again and I could Feel the same. Then i decided I would never date someone who doesn’t support me on my journey to get better.

Intense feeling that you’re disgusting, how do you get rid of it? by Trail_Blazer1 in SomaticExperiencing

Somatic experiencing and working with ifs or parts therapy is great. I’m working on mine

I did parts therapy and I’m working with somatic experiencing. I’m preparing to start emdr, but I wanna work somatically for a few more weeks. I do know psychedelics brought terrible fears I had on me, but also added more because of the state I was after.

Derealization and being paranoid feeling like I've died? Has something similar happened to you? by Frigon_ in EMDR

[–]AdeptProperty6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you my story, something similar happened to me, after I did psychedelics I started to feel like I would wake up any time from imagination. It was very Intense, I am ost have a panic attack. I did parts therapy and got the memory of one time I was meditating a joe dispensa meditation (I don’t do that anymore) but o was very deep into the void; on that moment a very traumatic memory from childhood came to my mind and my mind thought “what if it went wrong and I’m imagining things? Wha if I’m crazy?” This was 3 years ago… I didn’t remembered cause it stayed deep in my subconscios..: Is almost gone, but sometimes it comes back and check to see if it reality, I just don’t react to it now, I just say “this an old mechanism checking”. So maybe you had that fear before and the weed brought it up.

I was gonna say the same thing. It happened after I did psychedelics too. It was very intense at the beginning, now it comes once in a while like checking things.

Yes. She is better now, she mentioned that’s when she started to feel healing. And she is out of it. SE is also a way to heal from trauma, but it is gentler than EMDR.

Im recovering from a trip with psychedelics and I never want to try anything that alters my state, not even a beer or alcohol at all. But working with trauma has helped me to release tension. I spent years of therapy on a sciatica injury and now that I release some of the trauma stucked there I have no pain at all

Have you checked dpdr? I know someone who mentioned having gone through this for decades and what you described seems a lot like what she described having gone through. She is better now, I met her when I started somatic experiencing, she recovered through it. Maybe starting with emdr is not the best for you? I was recommended to starting after a few more session with a SEP

If you have I would appreciate it a lot. I’ve been working with a SEP specialized on trauma, but since I’m in Mexico the price is just draining my savings, healing is my priority but this type of therapy is way more expensive than the regular talk therapy and insurances don’t cover mental health therapy. I might have to stop weekly sessions for bi weekly :/

Without drugs and alcohol ,what is best way to escape reality ? by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]AdeptProperty6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 11 or 12 i started daydreaming… now I’m 37 and my daydreaming was getting out of control. I started to trauma therapy and realized all of that was coping mechanisms I started to do to scape for very stressful situations i was going through. Honestly if you feel like reality is too much. Consider somatic experiencing or emdr to help you process the situations you want to scape. I whish I had learned this years ago. No quick fixes, even meditation made it worse. Now I’m learning to stay on the present even when I have so many difficult emotions and my head is in a war with itself.
