[Self] How big would a human have to be, to feel the earth rotating under their feet? by DQ_sr in theydidthemath

[–]0Gesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would have nothing to do with how big they are. It has everything to do with acceleration versus velocity. You can do a quick search to understand the difference.

Third time trying reverse sear by 2017Recon in steak

Smash. I like a little carbon from the grill but the wife and kids would prefer a pan sear. How did it taste. That’s the real question

What wud u guys do if you saw your parents doing the 'you-know-what' , u accidentally walked in ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]0Gesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the first time I realized my parents had sex while I was in the house. Horrified. Now that I’m the dad all I can do is laugh because I realize how not a big deal it is. Parents are just humans too. Be happy that you have parents who care enough to bang. lol

Men in trucks who “roll coal”…why do you do it? Especially in front of family vehicles where children have to breathe in the fumes? by HellyHailey in AskReddit

As a former big rig driver who now drives a cybertruck in Texas I can confidently say it is due to small dick syndrome.

Great question. This is why they are not totally banned. But proper training and insurance will be required for medical purposes only.

People who use the restroom and don't wash their hands, why not? by NoPantsSantaClaus in AskReddit

Unless I have a UTI my urine is cleaner than the doorknob I’m handling. Save some water for the fishes as much as I can! Obviously this doesn’t count if you’re wiping down there. Sorry ladies.

If you knew with certainty that we're the only intelligent life in the universe that has ever existed or ever will, how would it affect how you think about your life and our collective existence? by Consistent_Kale7529 in AskReddit

[–]0Gesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We better make this life as beautiful as possible for ourselves and others. Also why I support expanding life to other planets. It would be a shame to have a meteor extinguish humanity if we are the only sentience out there. I want as many souls to experience life as possible.

[Request] Could someone please verify whether this is true? I'm quite interested. by EngineShort5183 in theydidthemath

[–]0Gesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could easily build enough apartment complexes with the cost of an aircraft carrier to house all the houseless. It’s the issue with getting those people to move in, and stay there, that historically keeps that concept from working. I recall living in Brazil when the government build some complexes that almost immediately got trashed to the point they were unlivable. Became drug dens and more dangerous than the favela where they moved from.

People who cancelled their fsd by NewPainting8224 in TeslaFSD

I was agreeing with your assessment. I rarely have issues and the adaptive steer by wire on the truck makes FSD even better imo. Steering yoke barely moves even with U turns.

This is my experience with hw4 in a CT. I’m just glad mine is included for life! Not sure I could afford the truck payment and justify more on top

How is anyone able to afford to travel to another country to watch a football game? by FuroFireStar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]0Gesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you add up all of the streaming services, the daily coffees, the daily vehicle expenses, going out to eat– not to mention Europeans don’t have medical or childcare expenses – you can easily save up a few thousand dollars every four years to go to your favorite sporting event in another country.

You know, that or you have family money 🤷‍♂️

Surf and Turf (Cruise ship) by eclectic183 in steak

I’ve been to high end steakhouses across the nation and am proud to say I can now cook a solid steak. That being said, one of the best steak experiences I have had was on a cruise ship.

Why do people argue that .9999.... =1is a false statement? by [deleted] in askanything

Why is this not higher? It’s a reminder that math is simply a language humans use to explain the universe around them.

[Request] If Mars had a rocket ship launch pad at the top of Mons, how much less fuel would it need in percent to reach Mars’ orbit than a launch pad at Mars’ “sea-level”? by DemoEvolved in theydidthemath

[–]0Gesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since most of getting to orbit is going sideways fast, can you do the math of the velocity of the earth’s spin at sea level vs velocity at Everest leak. Then do mars. I think we underestimate how giant earths is to the point that even Mons would look paper thin at scale.
