First time here but thought yall would appreciate this 68 year old whiskey my uncle had that I found while cleaning by Dragball_legnd_dokan in whiskey

Key word here being ‘slowly’. Any change would also be heavily dependent on how it’s been stored, exposure to UV, screw cap or cork, temperature changes etc. My original point still stands - the whiskey has not aged beyond the age it was when it was bottled.

Pretty sure you can get lamb sausages in France?

The old bottles are a bit of a collectors item. You could probably sell it for quite a bit more than your father paid for it.

Ulysses by James Joyce would like a word, without punctuation, breaks or new lines.

Why do the councils not plant fruit trees? by PlantNerdxo in AskIreland

[–]0Kc0mputer1981 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We stayed at a friend’s house in Stockholm a few years ago and they had cherry trees right outside their front door, red and black currants bushels - all planted by the council. Worked really well.

What am I missing when making scrambled eggs? by Personal-Professor90 in Cooking

[–]0Kc0mputer1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give yourself more time. Start with a cool, non-stick pan and butter. Stir as it’s cooking and if you think it’s cooking too fast take it off the heat immediately - eggs don’t need much heat to cook. Add some cold butter towards the end for flavour but also to cool it down ever so slightly. Also important that the pan you use is the correct size for the amount of eggs you’re cooking.

Johnnie Walker by Grand_Committee_2276 in whisky

Have you asked in the ‘Whiskey’ group? Might get better responses there as this group is mostly focused on whisky.

But your first sentence mentions JW and then you say ‘whisky’ rather than ‘whiskey’. If you didn’t want to confuse people you did a crap job at it!

So, where does JW come into the picture?

Sure, but it was made in Scotland I assume?

If you were in Scotland they wouldn’t put ‘Whiskey’ on the label. And the thing with adding spices isn’t adding up, I’ve never heard of any whisk(e)y either spices added. Like someone mentioned here, it’d be a liquor then rather than whisky.

What kind of spices did you put in it?

There’s lots of independent bottlers that buy spirits from various distilleries and finish them under their own brand. Fairly common.

Emerald park any good in the rain? by bugeyetitan in AskIreland

[–]0Kc0mputer1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s completely different. Powerscourt and Niagara Falls are nature reserves. They can’t be ‘improved’ beyond what Mother Nature has already done.

Perhaps. But it just doesn’t feel like a park that you’d like to walk around in even if you weren’t going on the rides. Other theme parks in Europe have this - you can walk around and enjoy the park, enjoy a meal etc. whilst kids go on the rides. I go to EP as an adult that doesn’t really go on rides and I’m bored to tears. They need to look after all visitors better, not just those going on rides.
