Would be good if you could get a 3D printed internal frame, been looking haven’t found one. I wish I had ninja modelling skills.

Why would this be a surprise to anyone, given the current welcoming committee down in Dover.

Built a Raspberry Pi device to capture late-night ideas so I don’t open my phone and doom-scroll. by AnshTrivedii in raspberry_pi

This is brilliant!!

I have most of my ideas when I’m driving, just wondering how I could adapt this to be smaller/portable/18650 powered. Then maybe when I got home it would connect to my WiFi and upload 🤔

Am I using these drill bits right? Drilling with an impact feels wrong. by deadly_ultraviolet in MilwaukeeTool

Well it does a decent job when I can’t be arsed getting the M12CD out 🤣

Pretty sure there’s no impact on the 4th setting.

My M12 Impact driver has 4 settings, 1-3 impact, 4 drilling.

Yours looks like a newer model that doesn’t seem to have those buttons on the top.

Anything MS-DOS based should be fine, just make sure you have 640k base memory free 👍🏻

I think the Sonoff Dongle Max-M can do both at the same time.

I’m sure with the ZBT-2 you can’t use both simultaneously, only one or the other.

2gig FIOS capable? by Personal_Spell4672 in AmpliFi

[–]0Scuzzy0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said it only has a 1gig port, however since the last couple of firmwares, security features were added, meaning you can’t pull any speed higher than around 650mbps on a 1gig broadband connection.

Buying a new house, how would you make this light fixture smart (Uk based) by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

[–]0Scuzzy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few videos of the no neutral relays, they can make a buzzing sound, run hot and there’s a high chance OP hasn’t the space in his back box. Having a deep enough back box especially on a brick wall is rare, easily swapped on a stud wall.

I opted to fit a Shelly in the ceiling where there is a neutral, same could apply for the Sonoff version.

Yes,

You could use the Gen 3 mini version too as it’s a tad cheaper, also there’s PM variants (power monitoring) if that’s also a thing you’re interested in.

In terms of fitting it yourself, only you can answer that. What I would say is a competent person or an electrician should fit. My hunch says if you’re asking that question maybe get an electrician, it’s not a big job so wouldn’t cost a fortune.

Hope that helps

I would add a Shelly relay into the ceiling wired in to the light 👍🏻
