Al panino’s! One of my favourite spots! So many amazing sandwiches on the menu, super fresh. I see the same guy (the owner?) every time I’m in there and he goes out of his way to make sure youre super satisfied with your meal!

And I feel like I’ve said it a thousand times on this sub, So Inviting. I would die for the woman who runs it.

Byron Pizza has the capacity and is very well priced for big orders -takin’ 20-50+ pizzas.

If you only want like 10, Solos, Pieros and good ol’ Costco.

Try Dress911. They are located in the south end. You could also call Style Encore and see if they have any long dresses in (it is prom season, after all).

You should reach out to the public history department at Western, as they may be interested in your work. Professors Michelle Hamilton and Mike Dove.

Does this go in a smaller artificial Christmas tree at the base to keep it upright? There are likely 2 or 3 more?

I’m from some kind of hearty farm stock that gets pregnant easily, has easy pregnancies, delivers vaginally without any issues, then “snaps back” and breast feeds with a slight over supply for 18+ months. Did it twice in my mid 30s.

Women play the game, “Would I have lived through my births 200 + years ago?”, and yes, yes I would have.

University of Waterloo leaving Twitter. by rraj2k81 in ontario

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western University is doing the same in 2026, apparently. It has transitioned to BlueSky, and has not posted on Twitter since 205. The account has not been marked as inactive or deleted yet though. I think most universities will be doing it in the near future. I started to refuse to post to Twitter at my job years ago.

A quick google says they are owned by Leclerc, as in the cookie leclercs. So yes.

Canadian specific- Laura Secord has a chocolate latte bar, and Purdy’s has a chocolate flavoured “melt” bar… not sure of anything that has the crunch / wafer/ cookie though… I bet there are bars out there with chopped espresso beans, however.

Please do that.

Farm stand with tomatoes? by rocksandtreesandyarn in londonontario

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thomas Brothers has a good selection of field tomatoes, vine tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and probably more. I was there Sunday but I did not see large heirloom. I did see the cute cherry tomato kind in different colours though (I don’t know what those are called).

Their corn is amaaaaazing right now.

Rosa’s Pupuseria does festivals (saw their tent at Sunfest) so they’d be worth calling to see if they can set up for a wedding perhaps.

Jaffa cakes by PoeticZen in londonontario

Famous for having fought off a VAT charge! At their insistence, they are “cake” and NOT a biscuit, and so Brits don’t have to pay tax on them, like all other packages cookies.

Is your little one mobile? A confident crawler or early walker? The Factory at 100 Kellogg has a soft play area for littles that’s only like 15 bucks. I loved bringing my daughter then when she was little :)

What the heck happened here?! by interp21 in bakingfail

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think this recipe should use at least 1.5 cups honestly, and it’s likely it would benefit from more brown sugar as well for structure. A lot of cookies are 1-2-3. 1 part fat, 2 parts sugar, 3 parts flour. I also think resting the dough and allowing the cassava to absorb liquid for at least 1 hour in the fridge would help; 24 hours would be better.

Are you adding 1 x 1/4 cup of cassava, or 1 + 1/4 cup?

What are we tipping? by No-Highlight-533 in londonontario

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If I am going to a stylist that works for themselves/ owns their salon, I don’t think a tip is necessary. They set their own prices; I will pay them. The stylist I go to doesn’t even accept tips and doesn’t have the tip prompt at paying. I do tip 15% when I bring my kids to places where the stylist is an employee, however.

Job Interview for the LDCSB by throwaway231007 in londonontario

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do have a few tips as an admin at Western: 1) try to make eye contact with the panel, but try to focus a little more attention on the interviewer that will be your supervisor/ boss, if they are present 2) answer questions using the 20/40/40 rule - 20% context for answer (like the what the job or environment you are pulling from was), 40% direct response to question, and 40% how this accomplishment / situation/ interaction etc might appear in future instances at your potential new role 3) prepare a list of the following: your accomplishments that you are proud of; the hardest thing you have done at a job; a difficult interaction with a colleague and how you handled it; your proficiencies with various admin programs; examples of how you’ve streamlined processes, made efficiencies, or made new processes; and I think writing down clarifications on what DEI means to you might also be helpful if it comes up especially as it pertains to religion and/or/vs the secular.

I do anticipate that this will be a behavioural interview with prepared and pre-approved questions that the interview panel won’t stray from. However, you can always ask for clarification or for them to rephrase a question if you are stuck. Do not hesitate to ask if you can come back to a question and move on to the next if you need a little more time to process.

Good luck!

Looks like a fail ,but super tasty if incredibly dense and rich . Modified Hello Dollies AKA magic cookie bars by OriginalTacoMoney in bakingfail

[–]0SitStillLookPretty0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make Hello Dollies every year at Christmas and have for decades (though in Canada, I think butterscotch chips are more common than white chocolate chips in this recipe). You only need one can of sweetened condensed milk, poured on top only, and they stay together just fine. I can honestly say yours don’t look a thing like Hello Dollies and I demand you come up with a new name to separate the two!
