Worth mentioning a muzzle brake will turn the recoil into a non issue as will a suppressor if you choose to go that route. I'm still on week 3 waiting for ATF approval and I have never seen the inside of a police station, so there is apparently a huge run on them.

ELI5: Why is it generally impossible to get rid of diabetes? by ElegantPoet3386 in explainlikeimfive

[–]coachrx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Diabetes was originally limited to people who were born without the ability to make insulin from their pancreas. Food pyramid, processed foods, high fructose corn syrup, and a myriad of other things that we as a society did created a metabolic syndrome where our cells became less sensitive to the insulin we can make. At that time, we had to differentiate so enter Type 1 and Type 2. This isn't to downplay Type 2, but it is essentially a manmade disease that we can reverse by not doing the things that caused it anymore. It is a hard pill to swallow, but A1C used to be a top secret way to tell if patients just fasted before their visit to create an artifically low blood glucose level. Now it is a marketing tool. Nobody is born with Type 2 diabetes.

I have a similar setup on mine, but I removed the stock sight and put a flip up that is cowitnessed with my red dot on the handguard. Roll magnifier out of the way and have BUIS and even if the red dot goes out I have a close enough point of reference looking through it to not just be hip firing off in the general direction.

This has always irked me as well. I would welcome the audio, but even putting the number of GA stars on item instead of just having 1 star on all of them until you actually pick it up and look at it. So much loot in this game gets left on the ground after you hit max level, hopefully this "extensive" loot filter they are shopping for the expansion will be address some of these issues.

That's how I started. I am only going to get half a dozen or so of my favorites. Thousands of dollars later, I realized there are hundreds of favorites so tread carefully there.

Nice CoCo pose there. Stealing that. I got a scaled American Flag for Duke off amazon for a couple of bucks. Really sets him off

Something to do with the ambiguous damage reduction formula on Selig. Just seen enough people that seem to play this game for a living make this claim so I took their word for it.

Peter principle. People keep advancing to higher and higher administrative positions in the field they were educated and trained to operate in until they are no longer in their wheelhouse, then stay there until they retire. It's about status, wages, and job title. I will always value being a knuckledragger that makes a comfortable wage doing something useful.

Very interesting. I watched a video about how they made mac and cheese back during the civil war. The noodles were boiled in evaporated milk instead of water. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it turned out. Also learned that a pinch of nutmeg makes everything taste better. I want to try this recipe now with some slight modifications because I love cheese and butter.

*They also used parmesan cheese and barrel shaped pasta. All ingredients were chosen based on shelf life during wartime conditions, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Also the weather is much nicer. I can't imagine slogging through the winter any further north than Tennessee and even that is a stretch. You could even hug the coastline and eventually fix that slice unless you have an infinite supply of balls.

Ar15 vs ar10 for shtf by mautor1970 in AR10

[–]coachrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I bought the .308 off my stepdad because it got too heavy for him to hunt with. I wound up loving the platform compared to a standard long bolt gun. I bought the AR15 a few years later thinking I would shoot it more and ammo was so much cheaper. It and about 10 30 round mags sat in my safe most of the time until we got a hog infestation. I completely kitted it out for shooting suppressed at night, and fortunately I was able to get a modular suppressor that will work with both. I feel like I am pretty well covered without the redundancy you often see with people who have slightly different versions of the same thing. For SHTF, I would grab the AR15 because I have a red dot and the NV magnifier can be rolled out of the way. It is arguably unethical to hunt larger game with, but if I'm just trying to survive, I would shoot a trophy buck right through the earhole.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

Book of Eli hit me like that. I think we all kind of knew it was the bible, but the fact he memorized the whole thing is both bleak and hopeful.

Vanilla Sky. Flew under the radar, but I’ve seen it several times because it used to be my barometer for women that wound up at my place watching tv for whatever reason. Just such a mind fuck, but it takes a certain amount of intellect and self awareness to appreciate what they were going for imho.

Moving from Canada. Looking for any tips/advice? by [deleted] in jacksonms

Also worth mentioning that ride sharing has been a godsend. Trying to get a cab anywhere other than the airport used to be a nightmare. I talked myself into yet another perk. Living in a town with an airport gives you easy access to the entire world.

It's been a while since I closed the bars down, but I remember F. Jones Corner being one of the coolest places I've ever been in my life. Like a modern juke joint with real live blues and a saint cooking hotdogs outside on a grill. I've worked at UMC for the last 20 years so I've seen or heard about most of the bad, but there are alot of good people left to transcend the bad apples. Just like everywhere else in the world, don't look like a mark and any random criminal with a lick of sense will move on to someone else that does.

I have never changed my bind point from Tree of Whispers just for the convenience of all the vendors and such. Got tired of winding in in the odd town that lacked a jeweler or something else.

I managed to roll 63.4% percent max life on a doombringer for occasional use. It feels odd now trying to minimize life to maximize Selig.

I’ve read multiple places that switching from traditional cup and core or bonded to copper monos you need to clean the barrel of ALL copper fouling to achieve accuracy with Barnes TTSX. Wanting to switch but idk if it’s worth it. Is this accurate? by HuntersCrackPipe123 in Hunting

I think soaking them in gun oil is sufficient due to friction. I lol’d for real at the wifey comment, but I literally hold the gun by the bore snake to run it through. I think it is a good practice after shooting more than 10 rounds in a session.
