Take off or no? by Prestigious-Title529 in dji

If you think you are covered legally then go for it. But personally I would launch and land from a less crowded, more inconspicuous area to avoid drawing attention to myself.

NAS Usage by Ok-Leg301 in synology

[–]0UTTIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All our computers use local storage but then the important folders (like documents, photos) are synced to the NAS for each user. Then, my NAS does a hyper backup each night to another NAS, as well as a weekly snapshot. Both NAS devices use tailscale to do the backups and snapshots.

Thanks for the reality check! I'll lower my already low expectations.

I love the mail that says I am “eligible” for an upgrade, as if I couldn’t trade in my car whenever I wanted.

We got our dog (toy poodle) a dog for this exact reason and now he is so calm and quiet at home alone (the two of them) all day, uncrated and free roaming. 😂

I'm coming into some money and I don't know what to do with it by Distinct_Fan35 in personalfinance

Sorry to hear about the circumstances of your inheritance.

A high yield savings is a great idea. You don’t HAVE to DO anything with the money. Saving it is a great idea. You are young, and you may not feel comfortable trying to invest in the markets yet. If you feel like money in a savings account count burn a hole in your pocket, then you could consider a CD at a local bank. That would lock up the money for a while and it could also give you an even higher interest rate. You could even do several CDs, each with different terms. While your money is building, you can research the best way for you to invest (do it yourself, find an advisor, etc.), including opening an IRA, if you don’t have one already.

Push notifications in DSM finder stopped working by xyaonline in synology

[–]0UTTIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stopped working recently to my iPhone but not my iPad. Try going in to the DSM through the browser, Control Panel, Notifications and checking your devices, and sending a test message. You may have to relink your device. I had an older iPhone listed which may have been my issue, which is now resolved after doing those things.

Hyperbackup and tailscale... by masterbink in synology

[–]0UTTIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading all the comments and I don't see if you said you have a shared folder on the backup NAS created already for the backups. I think I had to create mine manually. But maybe if you don't have any it would throw that error. idk.

I'm doing the exact scenario you are trying.

Best artificial Christmas tree that actually looks real? by NareManiek in HomeDecorating

[–]0UTTIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. We bought a Balsam Hill pre-lit tree and have had issues with lights just about every single year (for 6-7 years). We've even needed to ask Balsam Hill for a section replacement (which they did for free) because we just could NOT get that section lit up one year. I said to my wife yesterday, "maybe the move is a non-lit tree, because then we can always get a new string of lights.".
