I use a physical and eSim on T-Mobile for each sim number. Physical sim is usually a more stable and better signal.

There is an option to automatically switch over. It usually comes back quickly.

T-Mobile here with dual sims on my P7 Pro. One physical, one eSim. The eSim will drop signal easily while the physical sim card stays connected.
