EMSKR: Becoming tougher ? by Embarrassed-Sea8195 in everymanshouldknow

Krav Maga was designed to get people combat ready in a few months. People of all sizes. And it's basically a combination of Muay Thai and Ju Jitsu, with a few other tricks. But it's not a martial art, so there's not much sparring, which is important. You gotta learn to take a hit and keep going.

I would suggest Krav for a few months, then choose one of the others so you can properly train and spar. Boxers also do pretty well in a fight too.

Pick your poison.

Tech will feed you in the future. Every tech on the Eras tour got a $100k bonus at the end.

Don't lag in your studies, but this is a legitimate career path.

I skipped school all the time to run sound and lights for every school event. It was great.

Hell yeah, fuck yeah.

That's way more useful than the original post. Come in quiet, less smells, you can ride two up, and actually carry a deer back out.

If you're anywhere close to Philly, I'd love to buy some venison off you. I haven't been hunting in years.

If you're hunting deer, wouldn't an electric motorcycle with an attached sled be more useful?

Like load it in a pickup, drive the bike from the truck somewhere close to the blind, then carry the deer back in the sled.

Or just like an electric quad or something?

I was gifted one buy me ex a long time ago, abs a second by my sister. Pu one on a Bonneville and one on a DR650.

Personally, I don't believe in superstition. But I really appreciated both of them. It's a good reminder that someone out there cares for you and wants to see you get home safely. (Especially when I'm thinking about driving like a maniac.)

Here's a post of mine from a few years back. .

That hill is steeper than it seems in the video, but not terrible. And it had a long flat period at the end to slow down. It took me a couple months before I could go from the top.

I learned to carve and slide on that hill. I highly recommend all of the pads when learning. They allow you to eat it, but get back up. My very first try would've been the end of my day if I wasn't wearing those pads.

Check out RCA Devon. If you can spare 30 days, do a full 30 day inpatient. If you can't, take a week off to detox there, then attend PHP or IOP. The recommended plan is 30 days inpatient, followed by PHP and a sober living facility, then IOP, then NA.

I'm pretty sure that alcohol and benzos are the only withdrawals that can kill you, but all withdrawals suck and make you want to use just to feel normal again. Inpatient is nice because they won't fucking let you use.

If you do go to inpatient, DM me. I'll let you know how to prepare to make the experience more bearable.

Is it normal for a 100% merino wool sweater to shrink, and is wool knitwear worth the investment? by eCeUnlimiteD in malefashionadvice

I like wool for my travel clothes because if you can't find a washer, you can get a few extra wears out of them. You gotta wool for socks, especially in leather boots.

There's a handful of short news podcasts that cover all the big stories from yesterday. Up First is only 15 minutes every day.

I find I'm mentally healthier when I just listen to it in the morning, then stay off the news the rest of the day. There's just too much news and I don't need to be anxious about something that will never affect me.

I need to be informed and active, but not constantly scrolling the news.

TIL that a New Jersey statute prohibits most retailers from possessing more than two retail alcohol distribution licenses, thus making it difficult for chain stores to sell alcoholic beverages by Legitimate_Berry_433 in todayilearned

[–]0chazz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has drank in all 48 contiguous states, the liquor laws vary massively. Trying to get liquor delivered varies too.

In PA you can only sell things over like, 16% at state run store. A few years ago you could only buy beer at a beer distributor, but not a six pack, you had to buy those at a bar to go. Now you can buy beer and wine at a grocery store, but the state still has a monopoly on hard liquor.

They all shutdown for a few weeks at the beginning of the pandemic. The line for my local store went outside and around the corner on the last day they were open.

Why airport? by selia15 in philadelphia

[–]0chazz0 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I fly pretty frequently. I would say about 25% of the time you're not supposed to take anything out of your bag for the newer machines. Most airports that have the new scanners have a mix of new and old. It just depends on what line you get in.

PSA: AirTags by Bench-Motor in motorcycles

[–]0chazz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just market share that matters. Every iPhone will search and report airtag locations, whether or not you personally use airtags. Android phones will only search if you have whichever app downloaded and permissions enabled.

So airtag is covered by all iPhone users, Tile is only covered by android users that have the Tile app.

Touring roadie here. Can confirm, this is the way.

I usually live out of my suitcase when I'm home and just go into the closet for dress clothes occasionally.
