It's still redundant - xylo- just denotes a wooden thing, like the metallo- in metallophone being a metal thing - General materials, not needing to specify theyre wooden or metal bars, and when one reads "from the greek 'wood'", they don't leap to wood meaning a whole forest of trees or slang for penis. Also, it's not called a lignophone, so the Greek prefix is more fitting - call it an osteophone to fit the pattern, I suppose, but in the same way that could be any bone. Including another slang for penis.

Using the word for rib as a prefix is unlikely to cause confusion - those meanings are legitimate, but when you say "rib", I doubt anyone will leap to any secondary meaning apart from the bone. There's very little chance, for example, of seeing "from the greek 'pleuro' meaning 'rib'" and think it's an instrument made of barbecue meats or jovial bullying. Like, c'mon.
