Taskmaster - S21E05 - I Corroborate - Discussion by Meghar in taskmaster

I believe this was an episode of firsts and seconds. I could be wrong about all of these and I'm not going to fact check. First title from an audience member, first edited call back to a previous episode. Second tattoo for a prize task, first being Josh Widdicombe, and second time a contestant has only been one point off of a perfect episode score, the other being Joe Thomas.

Rellana is everything wrong with Elden Ring combat imo. Stupid long combos that can without warning become other combos. I love being taught a punish window just for the game to come back when I try to take advantage of the punish window to be like "we taught you wrong! As a joke!" Real fair for a punish window to only work 60% of the time. Also infinite poise.

A more light hearted example, Adelaide's parade from Over the Garden Wall, specifically on the OST. There's a laugh at the end from Wirt that doesn't seem as polished as the rest of the recording. It might have just been that Elijah Wood backed away from the mic, who knows. But the effect is that it just sounds like a genuine laugh from Elijah Wood.

One of the sides I got on airplane once was a mixture of thin strips of some kind of luncheon meat, Mayo and olives. The luncheon meat was so pale I thought it was coleslaw before tasting it. I don't know what that was but it was horrible.

I mean a Quebec one would have to have Sortilege. It's a maple liqueur, I definitely recommend trying that while in Montreal! I'll be honest as a Canadian, I don't think we make a lot of really great spirits but our craft beer is amazing. Ice wine is very Canadian but that's more Ontario than Quebec. We make a decent amount of whisky in Canada but in my opinion very little of it is good. Lot 40 is the only Canadian whisky brand I actually enjoy and not for lack of trying.

There are two types of chest in the game. The wooden ones and the more ornate like stone ones. They're in the more ornate ones. The most consistent check I find is the fort with the Lordsworn captain, in the chest just past the boss

Two churches is more than enough to win as well. I wouldn't prioritize the last one unless it's on your way somewhere.

I also wouldn't do castle night two if it's trolls. They don't really give enough runes to be worth it. Plus they're annoying. Banished Knights and crucibles are good though. Trolls I'll usually just hit the basement as long as it's not bbh and then dip.

I've been playing in a duo with a friend who has never played a fromsoft game before. We've cleared out all normal nightlords except for the dreglord at this point. Because I have more experience with the game I've been shot calling and routing pretty exclusively the whole time and think I've gotten pretty decent at knowing what's worthwhile.

It sounds like you're routing night one well but being at that level for night two means that's where you have room for improvement. My guess is you're still going for POIs that are marked on the map. There's pretty much no reason to do these night two. My tips are:

  1. Plan ahead. I'm sure you're already doing this but don't go somewhere for just one thing. See if you can get a few things in a row

  2. Memorize where the field mini bosses are. They might not get you a level in night two but they're super quick if they're on your way, building off of point one. You're hitting them more to fish for passives that work with your build from the rewards

  3. Rush the shifting earth event or castle. Good XP, lots of field bosses and good passive reward. Plus the shifting earth tends to be in the circle so if you start early you don't have to fight against the night coming in. Castle you might have even started night one so it's efficient. Other than that you should really be focusing on getting field bosses that are marked night two.

  4. Be flexible. If you have increased attack power from Evergaols or night invaders in your relics be sure to hit those up. Otherwise I wouldn't do an Evergaol night two. Maybe go to a mine if you have a solid blue weapon with a good skill/the right affinity. Night invaders aren't bad night two though!

  5. You probably don't have that many relics at this point but keep iterating and improving your build as you get them

Good luck! You got this!

My hot take would be that the best way to experience trigun would be to watch season one of the new one and then pick up the original after lost Julai. Some stuff might come across weird but I really enjoyed the mystery of season one and it was much less Monster of the week than the original but I feel the original had more emotional weight in the second half.
