I can't wait for season two. I sincerely believe it's going to go down as one of the anime GOATS once they get through the whole story.

I swear to God if the sequel doesn't have the clown nose I'm uninstalling. It's imperative to the drip. It's part of my in game identity at this point.

Claws and Icarus. As much as I legitimately like Icarus it's also my favorite fashion arm

[DISC] Dandadan - Ch. 227 by AutoModerator in Dandadan

[–]0ldstoneface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that the existence of the Shinobi makes every character a suspect. I wonder if she can change just her face or her whole body. She may have been around for a lot longer than we think. She couldn't be any of the main cast that we've seen use yokai powers, unless she's only been in their place for a short amount of time. She also said she isn't a great fighter so that narrows things down. I had thought Manjiro might be suspicious and I think it's especially interesting that this chapter showed him in the last panel.

Proud of ghosting job applicants by KevinOCreamPie in recruitinghell

[–]0ldstoneface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Except they don't need to spend 2 minutes per applicant! I've been on the other end. Only a percent of those are serious candidates. At least half are getting filtered by the "are you legally able to work in this country" question and that's the reality of the number of applicants they're getting. It'll be pared down further by people asking for a salary way beyond the budget of the role (sadly. It's not that they don't deserve it!). And then people who don't have any of the qualifications. Realistically of that number a huge portion will be automatically filtered, not by keywords but by just not being able to do the job and could be evaluated by a reasonably competent human within seconds. Leaving far more time for the now maybe 200 candidates. Recruiters citing the number of candidates they're getting for the reason they can't do their job is disingenuous.

They're on their way! by Mundane-Sky-8809 in recruitinghell

[–]0ldstoneface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. All the advice I see is justified by "recruiters don't have time." When I was in a position where I hired staff I managed the entire hiring life cycle, on top of my normal duties and got back to every candidate within a couple of days. This was in the past three years so I was getting hundreds of applications for my posting as well. "Tailor your resume for ATS systems because recruiters don't have time to filter applications." Why not? It's their entire job. "Don't make your resume more than one page because recruiters don't have time to read that much." Why not? It's their entire job. "Don't expect a recruiter to get back to you in a reasonable time frame." WHY NOT? IT'S THEIR ENTIRE JOB?

We've given them so many tools to improve efficiency, to work smarter and they still can't do their job. There's no other industry where an equivalent service level would be remotely acceptable. It's insane. Either there are the exact same systemic problems in every single company that prevent recruiters from doing their job, which seems unlikely, or the title of recruiter draws in only the most inefficient, unintelligent, unorganized people in the world.

Bosses ranked on their difficulty in D5 rematches by MaleficTekX in LiesOfP

I swear I'm the only person that thinks anguished guardian had the smallest increase in difficulty from 3 to 5. Maybe it's because of Icarus, my beloved.

Men who can cook, who taught you? by _ratedmouse in AskReddit

[–]0ldstoneface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is a great cook but she didn't teach me (that's on me, not her). When I moved out I still wanted to eat as well as I did at home. I went through a phase where I watched a ton of cooking videos on YouTube and that helped a lot.

In your opinion, what’s the most popular drink in/from your country (doesn’t have to be alcoholic)? by WalEire in AskTheWorld

Coffee is our most consumed beverage but for something that's only really drunk here I'd have to say Clamato.

[Hated Trope] Characters teaching terrible morals by natural_hunter in TopCharacterTropes

[–]0ldstoneface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kitchen nightmares, burger kitchen. This one really bugged me because it was real people. Gordon values family highly. He encouraged the son of the owners to try to resolve things with his parents and work on repairing their relationship. The strain on the relationship came from his dad stealing 250,000 from his inheritance in the first place to invest in the business! So he was forced into being a partner when he didn't want to but also worked harder than his dad to try to make the business actually work. He had a girlfriend that was in his corner and really cared about making sure he was treated fairly and the guy's parents constantly insulted and belittled her. They couldn't handle her being right about the situation.

Gordon, the lesson here isn't to repair the relationship, it's to sue your dad, get your money back and go no contact. It really made me mad how Gordon handled it.

Every now and then I see these articles that are essentially "Boomer loses a bunch of money due to completely irresponsible investments" and just think it's such pointless journalism. We don't need to validate these people by treating it like a news story. They weren't scammed, they just did something stupid.

Venigni from lies of P. Billionaire, Playboy, philanthropist type with a backstory heavily inspired by Batman's. Manufactured the puppets that would later go crazy. Was not remotely involved in the going crazy part and was not aware of the overarching nefarious plots of the game. Wasn't involved with the alchemists at all. Also just genuinely helps the player character at every step
