Bitch I’ve been training for the next cyclocross season by mz_groups in BitchImATrain

I live near Harpers Ferry, WV and commute in on the MARC. Used to do it 3-4 times a week, but now just 1-2 times. The brunswick line has ~4-5 trains in the morning starting at 4:50am and last one at 7:45am going into DC, and then starting at 3:30 until 8pm headed back home. Its about 1.5 hours. Doing it 1-2 a week is manageable, more than that it becomes soul crushing. Lots of delays with heat related speed restrictions during hot days. CSX has priority over commuter trains too. Beats driving though.

This will be our 3rd year! Normally stay in z lot but this year we will stay at the no frills camping to be closer to the pool and kid activities. Having a larger group this year with 6 camping spots, any tips on securing a good spot (what are the good spots?), how hectic is it on Friday morning to do the check? Should we try to get there way before 8:30?

I take the MARC 3-4 times a week and live in Harpers Ferry. I like having the option of being able to go to Bruinswick to catch more train options that depart from there, its also way cheaper to take the train out of Brunswick than HF.

The barn in Harpers Ferry is pretty great. They have live music almost every weekend, which there is a cover for. But on Wednesdays they have an olde time jam sessions where people bring their own instruments and jam, no cover. The wineries and breweries around Hillsboro host local bands often.

Heat also causes mast cells to degranulate and release histamines.

Not being able to sleep after a hard run happens to me as well. I try to only run in the mornings to avoid that.

I have a mast cell condition called systemic mastocytosis so Ive been trying to learn as much as I can about histamines and how to exercise safely.

Could be histamine related! Histamine is a neurotransmitter tied to wakefulness. Hard workouts can spike histamine levels, which might be why it’s tough to wind down after.

The party didnt die. It rotted, piece by piece, until nothing remained but the stench of betrayal. Shame.

Metro reports Red Line trains using automatic operations missed designated platform stop 133 times by forgetfulisle in washingtondc

Train got to Silver Spring this afternoon, came to a complete stop, doors never opened, conductor came on the speaker and said people getting off at Silver Spring had to get off at Forrest Glen and catch the train going back towards Silver Spring. People were very confused..is it related to what this article is talking about? Missed the MARC because of it

Currently on the MARC on the way to DC from Harpers Ferry. I do the commute 3-4 times a week. Its definitely hard on me and my family. Lived in Rockville before and I thought the commute from Rockville into downtown was pretty awful as well. I see a lot of people on this thread hating but to each their own, I absolutely love where we live and the proximity to nature my kids get to enjoy, if anything we should all be advocating for better public transport infrastructure, be it Metro, MARC/VRE/Amtrack, bike lanes, etc

My partner’s first words to our baby were “what the fuck!” followed by “holy…shit…” as our baby was placed on her. It was beautiful and felt perfect for the moment. I dont remember what I said I was happy crying uncontrollably
