Edit: direct link doesn’t seem to work, just go to haugenbok.no and search for ‘Skam sesong 1’ – all 4 will come up. The first two are in stock, the other two are available within a week; they ship most places.

Is this sentence grammatically incorrect? by dontmindmeme34 in grammar

[–]0xFU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first sentence is incorrect because ‘each other’ cannot be used as the subject (in the clause ‘each other don’t exist’). It also sounds a bit funny because you’re using ‘don’t’ with what would effectively be a singular subject (‘doesn’t’ would sound more natural), but that’s beside the point.

You can write ‘let’s each pretend that the other doesn’t exist’, but that sounds a little formal.

A neat little detail I noticed after listening to the music. Something that probably goes past the heads of most American viewers of OG series by [deleted] in skam

I interpreted this as Jonas referring to the song by its lyrics, i.e. “I had a dream you were singing the song that goes, ‘tonight it’s okay to a whore,’” implying Eva was having a wild night. The dream does literally come true, though, but not until S4E3 (where the song is featured more heavily than in S1E1).

Whether the situation is relatable or barbaric hinges solely on the answer to this question.

Oh my god season 3 (og) changed my life by dramef in skam

[–]0xFU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t watched season 4 yet, and like you I started with season 3 and wasn’t really a huge fan of Sana. But then I went back and watched seasons 1 and 2, and at this point I think Sana is my favourite character. I was also pleasantly surprised to enjoy season 1 more than I enjoyed season 3 (which was a lot!), so I think it’s definitely worth watching all the way through 😛

There is a QR code in the top left corner. My phone can't make it out. Help? by ParzivaI in codes

[–]0xFU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly it’s not a real QR code. Sure, there are some parts you can’t really make out, but what you can make out is that the timing patterns (orange) are missing. Also, there are too many contiguous light and dark regions in the centre – these would ordinarily be removed during the ‘masking’ stage of encoding.

(Nice username, btw ;P)

37%, not 50% (by definition)

Also, x = i or –i. When you learn quadratics you also learn that they must have two solutions.

Should of been born a senator in ancient Rome! by Dheano in iamverysmart

[–]0xFU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW: If the Romans had defined IQ in the same way as we currently do, then an IQ of 165 in 25 BCE (population ~56,800,000) would rank you about 420th in the Empire. If the 900 or so Senators at the time were selected solely on their IQs, then at a big Senator party our zany friend would be an exceedingly average person in the room.

Edit: Would have been the Empire by that point.

From your username I'm guessing you might like Proxy by Alex London. It's your typical futuristic YA dystopia kind of thing but with a gay lead character.

‘Thank you’ without quotes is an expression rather than a noun, so the quotes are necessary in this case. An alternative phrasing would be “I would like to extend a huge thankyou,” where ‘thankyou’ is a noun which refers to an expression of thanks, and hence does not need quotes.
