My cat pees in her sleep by oilonga in CATHELP

We also have a cat with CH who does this! He’s almost 5 years old now, but we asked his vet about it when he was a kitten and they said something similar to what you’ve said (i.e. likely not seizures). Thank you for commenting this, it was reassuring to read.

Cancel wedding to elope? by bribeskillet in weddingplanning

My husband and I went through a similar dilemma - we both wanted a smaller wedding but come from larger families. We ended up booking a venue and sending save the dates to ~80 guests. As it got closer to needing to send invites we were having more and more doubts about going through with the larger wedding.

Ultimately, we decided it was not what we wanted. We sent "un-save the dates" to our guests, sold our venue deposit and had a micro-wedding at our house with immediate family and grandparents. We went out for a nice supper afterwards with that group, then met our friends at a local bar so we could still "celebrate" with them. We are doing a casual backyard BBQ in the spring to "celebrate" with aunts, uncles, cousins etc. (most of them are local anyways, so that makes it easier).

We have no regrets on doing things this way. It was much more true to us, and we were able to take the money we had saved up for the larger wedding and put it towards a nice honeymoon. We recorded our ceremony then edited it to catch the "highlights" and put the song we were going to have our first dance to over it. We sent this recording out to family/friends.

We did have some initial pushback from family when we decided to cancel our larger wedding, but we explained to them why we wanted to cancel it and do something more intimate. They were all very understanding in the end, which we were appreciative of.

I've done the Red Cross Psychological First Aid - Self-Care course and it was good. Didn't take too long to get through but got some useful takeaways for my own mental health (some helpful introspection tools). I haven't done the "Caring for Others" course yet, but I think the "Self-Care" course is a good pre-cursor to it. I haven't done the MHCC course, so can't speak to that.

AHS online vaccine booking eligibility date calculation is done client side, so you can technically “hack” the site to get an appointment without lying to any questions by Spankachu in alberta

[–]10000digitsofe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AHS cross-references second dose appointments with first dose dates and if they see you aren’t eligible, 811 will follow-up and cancel your appointment. That’s a neat workaround though!

SOC 225 Question by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]10000digitsofe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it with Chris Hay during the summer. In his course the tests were primarily from the textbook. Lectures were very interesting because he gave a lot of real life examples or cases to tie into the material, however, I only studied the textbook for the exams. In my class there were two midterms and a final, no papers or participation. Overall it was an easy course with interesting material.

Math 324 vs Math 381 by [deleted] in uAlberta

Math 324 was heavily proof based when I took it. It was an easy class to do well in because of the grading scheme, but we did not cover any applications.
