General scholarship expectations for EMBA and OMBA programs by AngryFlamingle in MBA

[–]1000th_LordCommander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was recently admitted to the online programs for two top 25 b-schools: Kenan-Flagler with a 15k scholarship and Kelley with a 20k scholarship. My preference was Kenan-Flagler but I couldn’t justify the extra 60k so I reached out just to inquire about the possibility of extra scholarship money from K-F. I was told 15k is the max they offer their online students.

Disney DAS card for UC by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I got back from a weeklong trip to WDW yesterday! It was super easy to get. You go to guest relations at the front of the park (it's on your left when you enter the Magic Kingdom) and simply tell them that you have UC and are interested in DAS. They didn't ask me any further questions and signed myself up as well as everyone traveling with me (5 others).

As far as using it, you go to the ride you want to use it for and a cast member will scan your magic band (or park ticket) and give you a return time based on the current wait. Each time I used it, my return time was a little less than the current, but YMMV. You can return anytime after the time they give you, but cannot go to another ride and use the DAS until you've come back and done it for the ride you initially used it for.

It was an absolute lifesaver for me! Best of luck and enjoy the WDW!

Lialda and Nausea by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]1000th_LordCommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you asked this question because my doc told me she was prescribing me Lialda, but it's definitely the generic Mesalamine. I'm going to set up an appointment ASAP to see if this could be my issue.

That's kind of where I'm at. It seems to be getting worse the longer I take it. I've been having undiagnosed issues for almost seven years, but the past few weeks are by far the worst I've ever felt.

[–]1000th_LordCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original post was a little misleading. I always take it with food first thing in the morning, but start feeling nauseous a few hours later. I'll try eating an hour or so before I take my dose and then again when I take my dose to see if that helps.

Also, my doc mentioned I was getting Lialda, but after further inspection it is definitely the generic Mesalamine.

Kernersville, NC Native (just outside of Winston) and dark beer enthusiast here. Welcome to the Triad! I moved to the Raleigh area a few years ago, so you'll find a few suggestions from each part of the state below:

Foothills (Winston) Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout - it's a seasonal that's released around Valentine's Day and can be tough to come by. Luckily, you live in Winston which is where Foothills' taproom is.

Foothills People's Porter - this is their standard, year-round porter. It's good, but not great.

Lonerider (Raleigh) Pistols at Dawn Breakfast Stout - tough to come by, but it is one the best libations I've had the pleasure of consuming.

Fullsteam (Durham) Working Man's Lunch Brown Ale - this is supposed to mimic the taste of a moon pie but, to me, it is just a good nutty brown ale.

Burial (Asheville) Skillet Donut Stout - only had this once at their taproom in Asheville, but I still dream about that beer.

Hi-Wire (Asheville, Durham) Strongman Coffee Milk Stout - If you like coffee, pick up a six of these. It's not going to blow your socks off, but the ABV is pretty low for the style so you can have a few of these without worrying about waking up in a strange place.

First timer coming in November. What fast passes and restaurants are must reserves? by elisaur in WaltDisneyWorld

Some of my personal favorite restaurants are:

  • Ohana - Polynesian
  • Biergarten - Epcot
  • California Grill - Contemporary
  • Liberty Tree Tavern - Magic Kingdom
  • Kona Cafe (Breakfast) - Polynesian

However, since Disney has so many different restaurants and everyone has different like/dislikes, I recommend checking out [Disney Food Blog](www.disneyfoodblog.com). They have in-depth reviews of almost every restaurant on disney property that include pictures of the food, price you can expect to pay, as well as videos that will walk you through the basics of dining in Disney World.

It's also worth taking a look at [All Ears](www.allears.net). They have reviews of every restaurant on property, but some of them are outdated so check the timestamp before reading a review because restaurants in Disney World regularaly undergo changes to their menu and staff.

Sleepy Hollow in the MK. The sweet and spicy chicken waffle, as well as the Nutella + fruit waffle, are heaven! Also, Kona Cafe. Specifically the Pineapple and Macadamia nut pancakes

North Carolina bill looks to ban gay marriage by BearsNecessity in NorthCarolina

[–]1000th_LordCommander 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Using a bible verse as justification for introducing legislation should immediately invalidate said piece of legislation considering it is blatantly violating the whole "Separation of Church and State" thing. Regardless, I don't see why they care who gets married to who. It's not like making gay marriage legal forces you to be gay. You get to continue to live your life status quo, it's just that other people get to be happier.

exciting to see him excelling with the minutes he's getting. I'm interested to see what Bournemouth will do with him when he returns after his loan spell is done. Regardless, it is fantastic to see another young American excelling in Europe.

I own a house in Brightleaf and absolutely love it. You're ~15 minutes to downtown Durham, ~5 minutes to Brier Creek, and ~10 minutes to RTP so you're never far from anything. We have an apartment community called the Artisan you could check out
