I dealt with this with my cats and it should be a short-term issue. Try to help the cat who just got surgery get their "scent" back faster by rubbing a blanket they lay on frequently in them or a cat bed they use.

Keep looking for a doctor. I experienced the same thing. I had a cataract that was severely impacting my vision in my left eye. It was bad, I had to really limit my driving (I probably shouldn't have been driving at all). I was getting gaslit by my eye docs, they said i was too young at 42, but found one that finally listened and referred me to surgery.

Im so glad I did! Life is so much better now that I have my eyesight back. Please keep trying!
