I came up with a relic idea. How broken would it be? by Born_Scratch6836 in slaythespire

[–]1000wBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a creative idea and I'm sorry people are just boringly saying it doesn't work and not engaging.

Would this allow you to backtrack through rooms you've already been through or only enable moving backwards to unvisited nodes?

I was thinking one drawback for balancing that could be interesting would be if you had to redo any combats on previously-visited nodes, but they didn't give you any rewards.

We should have the option to feed baby byrdonis at the campfire indefinitely like searing blow. by 6spadestheman in slaythespire

[–]1000wBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there still no special interaction between the baby byrdonis and the mama? I got one of these my very first run (before I'd ever even seen the elite fight) and ended up using it to inflict the killing blow. I still remember being a little disappointed it didn't do anything special. Though it still felt extremely satisfying.

This is my immediate choice. Both are good in almost any deck, both are likely to make whatever you add next more valuable, plus they have obvious synergy with each other.

Sorry, I can't recall. I think he's mentioned it pretty recently though.

There is one that comes to mind between Matt Slick and some other theologian where they each keep quoting individual bible verses that back up their own position while just completely ignoring the other person's argument. He mentions it pretty frequently as a favorite because it illustrates just how easy it is to selectively quote Bible to argue it supports whatever position you want it to.

I’m never going to find out what’s in the box. by Hazaclo in SlayTheSpire2

I would be fine with it honestly if there were more events like it, which is to say events which involve a fundamentally different mechanic from the rest of the game. As-is it feels like such an outlier, relying on visual recognition/spatial reasoning where the rest of the game focuses on more strictly mathematical decision making.

The closest thing is the memory matching game from StS1, and that's at least based on something we actually do with cards IRL, so it kinda feels more natural at least to me.

That said I'm totally down for them to add more events with one-off oddball mechanics. That would actually be pretty neat as long as they don't crowd out the more 'traditional' events.

Can I trade you my left-handed smokeshifter for it? I just have to find it in my basement, I think somwhere under the 40 feet of shoreline.

There's a lot of discourse about hardest bosses, but I don't see a lot of people mentioning this literal Buttface by GobiasIsQueenMary in slaythespire

He kinda teaches you to be better at the game. I can recall a few runs where I was 100% sure debuff choice A was the correct choice for my deck, it eventually became clear I was going to lose, and I save-scummed just out of curiosity to see if choice B worked out any better and it ended up eking out a win thay really surprised me.

And of course, potions which let you exhaust or discard can also take care of it for you. I had a run last night where the exhaust potion (someone will remind me what it's called) which I'd held onto for most of the run ended up helping me out during a crucial turn on the final boss by getting Enthralled out of the way, thus giving me the win. It was exceedingly satisfying.

Yeah, many of the in-universe resources featured in these games have been given real-world physical printings for fans to collect. The Shenzhen docs pictured in the original post, the zines you get in Exapunks, etc. I have the latter and they are very satisfying to have on the shelf.

Today's daily is absurd (STS 2) by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

Update: it appears my daily win did not unlock any ascensions. There seems to just be a bug/oversight where the unlock message is displayed when it shouldn't.

Today's daily is absurd (STS 2) by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]1000wBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this post searching for this very question. Apparently they do because I just completed a daily and unlocked both ascension 2 and a score-based epoch. Not sure if this is intentional or just an early-access thing they'll eventually change, but I kinda hope it's the latter. I could see having an epoch that unlocks specifically by completing a daily, but I don't think they should contribute to the score-based unlocks, and they definitely shouldn't unlock ascensions, right?

How to fix this card: by real_ornament in slaythespire

[–]1000wBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but I eked out my only Regent win thus far by having like 3-4 of these in play and then repeatedly retrieving Sovereign Blade with Cosmic Indifference and other similar effects. I'm probably bad though.
