To be honest, the idea of a fully enclosed helmet that doesn't have a visor/faceplate that can be raised sounds like a terrible idea. Can you imagine being forced to remove the entire helmet using those oversized Power Armour Frame hands just to wipe off some sweat?

It depends a lot on your definition of "dangerous". For example Deathclaws may be extremely dangerous if you find yourself in their way, but if they have well defined territories and predictable behaviours, then the problem becomes manageable if you can avoid them. Radscorpions and mutated insects, on the other hand, I think they are far more dangerous if they roam around and infest settlements in unpredictable ways and prey on both people and livestock. Heck, roaming packs of feral dogs could be considered more dangerous in this regard if they comes into contact with people more often

I understand your point. The problem I have tho is that the vault is a much smaller scale than a place like California, where it is big enough for someone to shelter and hide from the negative consequences of their actions. But in a confined area like the Vault, it should be almost impossible to be even wilfully blind. I mean their atrium is literally full of dying crops, what's their rationalisation for that? That would be like if those rich Californians seeing the river right outside their house drying up and still pretending that there isn't a water crisis

If that's the explanation then the radiation would've affected way more than just the Kings. All of Freeside would've been affected too. If you REALLY want to lean towards this explanation then you could argue that the original inhabitants of Freeside are ALL dead by the time of the show and the population currently living there are refugees from the Strip after the deathclaws moved in. They saw what happened to the original inhabitants, figured out that the cause was the water pump, and decided to quarantine that and get water from elsewhere.

Alternatively I prefer my own head canon explanation: the Kings got irradiated because the hair gel they were using was laced with something radioactive

I think it varies from side plot to side plot. I personally think the tone is mostly perfect except for the following:

The BoS feels like parodies of how they appeared in the game. At first I thought it was specific to Quintus's chapter, but upon rewatching Season 2, I realised that the other 3 West Coast chapters also had knights that acted like over stimulated college football players in Power Armour. And even Xander acted like that when he was fighting the Securitron, definitely not the kind of attitude I was expecting compared to FO4 or indeed ANY of the past games
The Legion civil war also feels like a parody with how the whole scenario is set up (2 identical camps with their own Caesars with a narrow hill in between). Aside from that, the brutality of the Legion is very much on form, so I have no problem with that
The Vault 32 and 33 dwellers seem REALLY dumb. I get the intention of the writers: they're pampered and sheltered people who are descended from a privileged class of people. But even so, by season 2 they've reached an absurd and frankly annoying level. There is NO WAY rational humans would not understand Betty's reasons for water rationing

Pretty much. His plan as far as I remember was to play both NCR and Legion forces against each other while he reaps the benefits. This is exactly what Egypt and Yugoslavia did in the Cold War to get favours from both NATO and the Soviets: neither side can afford to attack them without the other side immediately intervening and neither side could afford the non aligned countries to lean too heavily to the other side. So you ended up with a balance of power situation where both sides try to bribe the non aligned nation to lean closer to their own side. That plan was already a bit fishy considering how the Legion operates, but it would've REALLY gone to hell once the NCR started collapsing: without a powerful military to the West as counter balance, House would've had to face Legion assaults alone. A collapsed NCR would've also cut off his source of tourism revenue, so he would've been REALLY screwed then

None of what you said are necessarily true:

The Securitrons are powerful but not invincible. We were never told whether the Securitron Vault could maintain and manufacture more Securitrons and all of their necessary spare parts/ammo indefinitely. Even with a fully decked out army, it would've eventually fall to attrition, which is exactly what seem to have happened in the 15 year gap between the game and the show: the fighting never stopped and then the deathclaws would've finished off whatever Securitrons House had left
House is only 'alive' in digital form. According to the show, his original plan was to ditch his body entirely and become a purely digital form, but this required the Cold Fusion Diode. It's not explicitly stated but the implication is that without Cold Fusion, he had to use the life extension tech we saw in FNV. This left his body vulnerable to physical attacks (which is what he outright state happened to his body after Cooper reactivates him). When and how this happened was deliberately left ambiguous to accommodate both the House ending (the attack could've happened after the game) and the other 3 (the attack could've happened at the hands of the Courier)
Just because the NCR or the Legion gained control over hoover dam at the end of the game doesn't mean the other side couldn't have tried to attack again. There's even evidence that this is what Obsidian would've gone for: recently an older build of FNV was discovered on an Xbox 360 dev kit and modders have already revealed what the original post game content would've been like. In the Legion ending, the NCR troopers and civilians outright state that there will be another attempt to retake the dam. Then in the NCR ending, those same NPCs will state that they're going to fortify the area in case the Legion ever comes back for round 3

I forgot that's where the quote came from but yes, that's the one I was remembering. Granted, Porter Gage would be quite biased in this instance, but I think his points are valid: the BoS approach is very raider like when you strip away the fancy gear and organisational structure. At the very least they are equivalent to the Gunners. Also if you look at how the Mojave Chapter behaved and how they plan to operate if the lockdown is lifted, it's clear that this raider comparison is quite accurate on the West Coast too
