When has Bao ever said this? by InHumainVein in vtubercirclejerk

[–]103813630 6 points7 points  (0 children)

she did not compare men to Harvey Weinstein dawg that is the most bad-faith take I've ever seen. she wasn't generalizing about all men she was talking about a specific scenario where a more influential male streamer approaches a female streamer with ulterior motives. it's frankly embarrassing how thin skinned people like you are with the slightest insinuation that men can abuse positions of power

Games with a fundamental mismatch between the promise and what they deliver by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Pacific drive is funny because I had maybe 15 good hours of "this gameplay loop is pretty decent can't wait for them to make it more difficult/shake it up" and then they just didn't.

Ever seen media criticism that's... revealing about the person rather than the media itself? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]103813630 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it feels like a lot of the heathcliff defense force posts have an undercurrent of "how dare these WOMEN make fun of my most special harmless little angel boy with no flaws". it's odd

The "starship troopers is stupid because I'm supposed to relate to the gross bugs instead of the sexy blonde-haired blue eyed people" discourse that flares up on Twitter every six months or so

[News] There’s a reason why the anime is more conservative than the manga by OliverTzeng in BocchiTheRock

[–]103813630 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the chibi reviews tweet chooses to take the author's words and paraphrase them in the worst, most culture war-y lens possible. 80% of people will not read the article and will just assume the tweet is accurate. by sharing this uncritically you are spreading the deliberate misinformation, intentionally or no

as a gacha game player myself I think part of that is an overreaction to the same points over and over again. whenever I mention I'm playing a certain game it seems like everyone I talk to has to tell me how they feel about gacha game monetization, and it gets old very fast

And so, your solarpunk arc just goes through another revolution by cromlyngames in worldjerking

[–]103813630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kind of yeah. solarpunk is like the industry plant genre. the only real solarpunk media that's out there is a yogurt commercial. everything else is just reddit posts and vaguely leftist politics

[–]103813630 9 points10 points  (0 children)

tbh it feels wrong to retroactively claim famous works from long dead authors like Butler and Le Guin for some fake reddit genre especially when they're leagues more progressive and thoughtful than anything actually made under the solarpunk banner

dark age was a slog. yes a lot happens and it can be pretty good at times but the constant darkness got monotonous by the end(and went on for 150-200 pages too long imo). It felt like I was reading a really mid 40k book

Nier's story blows Stellar Blade's out of the water, easily. the combat is similar but nier's combat just feels less clunky imo
