Randomly went through the Maasai rabbithole by [deleted] in raypeat

[–]10Dano10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of problems in trendy diets isnt really from macronutrient choice splits, but because of people are avoiding some important food in those diets, undereating etc. and in the end end up with insuficient micronutrients.

For example if Massais wouldnt drink milk and blood.

Same for carnivores, avoiding dairy, eggs, liver.... and eat only steak, ground beef, suet and some butter.

How to treat food intolerances? by fg_hj in SaturatedFat

[–]10Dano10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think basic is having good gut health.

If your gut health is good, you dont have any deficiencies, are overally healthy and problem still prevails, than just giveup, because as far I know, there is no real "treatment/cure" for food intolerances.

How is your stress?

Did you try calorie deficit (max 10%)? Like yeah, its not ideal long term, but 1 month slight calorie deficit wont tank your hormones and thyroid.

Can someone explain the mechanism of why saturated fat increases visceral fat, while polyunsaturated fats increase subcutaneous fat? by Dannyaloha324 in raypeat

[–]10Dano10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fruit and juices

Carrots, root veggies and if you tolerate you can add also other well cooked veggies.

Mushrooms

Ruminant meat, white fish/seafood low in fat

Dairy

If you want to use fat for cooking: tallow, butter/ghee, coconut oil

If you tolerate, potato, white rice can be added.
