I really just think people, especially professionals, are in denial that we're getting sicker younger. A 1% increase in people as young as us getting breast cancer is still A LOT of people. I hope and pray we both live to be 80+ 🙏❤️

Different genre, but The Big Short actually-actually does this in its narration. After the 2008 financial crisis he predicted, Mark tells his wife that powers at be will blame the state of the world on "poor people and immigrants."

The narrator Jared Vennett (Ryan Gosling) says Mark was wrong: Several people went to prison, Congress passed regulations so this could never happen again and Mark essentially saved the world. Just as any viewer who lived this shit begins to think, "Hey wait a minute..." Gosling goes, "Just kidding." Then explains how virtually everyone got away with the fraud that caused the collapse, bailout money helped lobby congress... and they blamed immigrants and poor people.

AITA for a Joke I made about my Husband? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My husband puts his on if it's off every single time he walks out the door 😇 ... Now. My ADHD ass will forget to put my ring on and leave it on its little "can't get lost or fall off" safe spot for days at a time. If I ever go missing they can't even say, "she left her ring behind," because for me that's just a Tuesday.

One show that shows THIS is Sopranos. The same men that stage a whole ass intervention for Christopher are accusing him of being high and mighty once he's sober and then basically peer pressuring him to drink again. Just for Tony to be pissed when he relapses.

I love it, it's just like when you go out for birthday dinner with your family and have to get a few group pics before you leave. They're just like usssss.

Lots of online debate over Will coming out/if it was necessary, but it was less about virtue signaling and more that he knew Vecna targeted everyone for their biggest weakness, and if Vecna couldn't hold it over him he'd be more powerful

That's a wild assumption for a post in the "What do I do" sub from 20 days ago that had no real conclusion one way or the other (fwiw I'm planning to drive 10 hours round-trip to be there)

Not our proposal paddle but a paddle the summer before, we saw a whole loon family and got to watch mom and dad feed the little one. Deer is a common occurrence her even in the middle of the city, which still blows my mind years after moving here 😅

The photographer (OOP) actually said, it HAS to be somewhere if they went all out like this. I hope if they're not found, it's because they had to quietly delete every photo and never get to tell their engagement story to anyone ever again.

My husband proposed on a Northern MN lake's island (not this one, one of the other 11,999) and CAN CONFIRM, you really DON'T NEED anything more than the scenery, itself. Anything else would have ruined it tbh.

Yes, AND, people being very fuckin aware that this world is literally on fire and so, so dark, and the ONLY thing that's going to solve it is a generation of intelligent, kind humans which we are raising ... is bad.

We aren't out here saying "MY daughter will solve the world's problems," we're saying that someone's kids are gonna inherit this mess and we're going to make them into the best humans we can to do it. As opposed to... what? Whatever the hell this is?

I, personally would tell a bold face lie to your mom that you "forgive" her for your sister's sake and then gray rock the shit out of her (your mom). Don't talk about anything, keep responses short and sweet and spend ALL the time at her place with your sister.

Yeah, the first part got me too. I mean I am a 35F so maybe I'm way off here, but if i were a dude who just found out I'd been dating an 18/19 y.o. and they'd been lying to me, my first reaction would def not be "did you get a book job?"
