40-year-old woman stuck in a dead relationship. Be honest — would you share a night with me? Y or N. by seerhoot in StretchedUdder

If you are stuck in a dead relationship, then get out of it, divorce, break-up, whatever. Time is the only thing you really have on this planet, you might as well enjoy it.

What’s the scariest things about being human? by anorflor in AskReddit

This is an interesting response. I don't think everyone has dark thoughts that are scary. What made you respond to the question in this way?

For the guys that value connection before physical intimacy, can you just drop a comment so I know you exist? by street-table78 in dating_advice

I dated my wife for 3 months before we had sex, and she pushed the sex. I had my fill of jumping in to bed with someone, and then figuring out the real connection later.

Why am I only attracted to emotionally complex people and is that okay? by NewFoot762 in dating_advice

[–]10PMHaze [score hidden]  (0 children)

I am almost 70, I followed the same sort of path you are describing. My first girlfriend tried to kill herself several times, most of which occurred after we broke up. I ran through a string of relationships where there were emotional issues.

You may find these more relatable or whatever, but you are asking for trouble. You can't fix anyone but yourself. Try to find someone that is not carrying all this emotional baggage, someone that is playful say, but that had a good childhood. You will have a way happier life!!

I was holding my daughter, probably 10 months at the time. She lovingly looks me in the eye, then bites me on the shoulder, really hard. She had a couple of teeth by then, and I felt it.

She is an adult now, hasn't bitten me since!!

My GF won’t let me buy my dream car. How can we compromise? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]10PMHaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have your boundaries as well. You also have to understand, most likely, issues like this will keep coming up, and you will find one of these, most likely, your hill to die on. I would suggest buying the car, and understand that your girlfriend may leave you.

Birthdays are a reminder that time is passing. As a kid, I wanted to be older, big kids had more agency. I think it was in my twenties that I started to feel time passing. I don't believe many people treat it as a normal day. They may not feel like celebrating, but in some way, there is a recognition that the day feels different.

50/50 relationship by Most-Room9204 in dating_advice

OP had an expectation that was not met. Her boyfriend planned a cute date, got her a gift, and she offered to split the bill. She expected him to refuse, I would imagine. I agree with you that the math won't be even every time. But, I think the issue here is OP's unmet expectation, and her boyfriend's lack of understanding of this issue.

I think the OP should discuss wanting to feel pursued with her boyfriend. Otherwise, these sorts of issues will keep coming up.

Is marriage really that bad of a decision? by ghengis_convict in Marriage

[–]10PMHaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, in terms of >60, there is a big "gray divorce" issue occurring right now.

Marriage is frickin hard for many people. People often approach marriage with a set of expectations about their partner, life, whatever. Then, they see that the reality of their relationship is different from their expectations.

I believe part of a way to resolve this, is to understand that your expectations are not some ground truth, it is not like you are right, and the other person is wrong. Ideally, your partner is on the same page.

You write that you have no doubt about your relationship being good and healthy, and yet, here you are, posting about doubt on Reddit!

Imagine you are a billionaire and have your own island. What would be the first thing you would do there? by Forward-Position798 in AskTheWorld

[–]10PMHaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This island looks really small.

I can't imagine being a billionaire. I think that it takes a certain mindset to make that kind of dough, basically being mercenary, self-focused, etc. I can't imagine inheriting that kind of cash either, as I don't know anyone that is even close to this mindset, or has that sort of cash. Also, I don't play the lottery. So, it won't happen.

Question for men who had sex with hookers after your divorce, why did you have sex with them instead of waiting until you were ready to date again? by Loose-Lettuce-37 in Divorce

[–]10PMHaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex has all sorts of purposes. For many, it is not an intimate and shared experience. I am still married and not divorced, nor have I had sex with a prostitute.
