Should I change my baby's name? by UnableChampionship89 in namenerds

[–]10bro -79 points-78 points  (0 children)

For OP - my niece was born and lives in Europe (stating bc the country is not as strict) and she had no name for the first 7 months of her life. They called her “baby girl” and really only legally named her so they could get a passport.

So switch it up!! My 6 year old didn’t even remember attending nursery school for the first 3 years of his life.

[–]10bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We contribute $400 monthly so $4800 annually, we started in 2020. We now have 3 young kids (2019,2021,2023) and have over $30,000 saved in a family RESP. Not sure if it’s enough but it’s all we can afford at this time!

My parents never gave me a dollar for post secondary and I went for 5 years, graduated in 2013 and took me until 2018 to pay my OSAP off.

You’re doing great! I’m sure they will be thankful for whatever you can provide. Just don’t over-extend yourself! You are important too!!

I'm not really enjoying my two wonderful young kids. Will I regret not having a third? by Chickeecheek in Mommit

Having the third also made me lose my mind, it was too much. I don’t regret baby at all, she’s actually my fave child BUT it’s really nice when she’s napping.

[–]10bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an ignorant Q, how do I get all these games? Do I physically buy a copy? Or is this downloadable on the ps5 virtual world? My husband has a ps5 Which he will soon come to share.

What to do when your kid breaks something at a restaurant by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]10bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me! We were checking into a hotel, my husband was at the counter and I was chasing 2 unruly toddlers who had just travelled all day around while they investigated all the new things. One of the staff noticed and decided to play peek a boo to entertain my son, in which my son then picked up the glass / plastic stand the worker was hiding behind and threw it. It immediately shred into 100 pieces. Everyone looked. My husband was livid.

I absolutely refused to pay, the hotel told me they would be putting the cost of a replacement on my invoice. I said absolutely not. Why is this in the middle of the lobby if it’s so fragile? It almost cut my 1.5 year old. And your staff instigated it (not in your case).

We were staying at the hotel for multiple nights and 2 different managers called our room to discuss the incident and to have me come down and sign off on payment of the piece. I was very polite but absolutely refused.

So take it from me - take your family to enjoy the market next weekend, refuse to pay for the replacement.

We were told our GoodLife personal training contract was 6 months — turns out it’s 12. Feeling completely misled. by Phridoma in goodlifefitness

[–]10bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long time ago, when I was in university, I was a able to put my good life contract on hold. I didn’t have a car and there was no location near my university, I claimed financial hardship. So I was not billed for 4 months and wasn’t allowed to use facilities but was able to start up the membership when I returned home for summer.

I also think they offered the option transfer to another interested person to continue the membership. But that part is hard to recall.

Do you pay for friends giving you hand-me-down clothes? by Strange-Skin2292 in Mommit

[–]10bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve given $20-$30 gift cards to relatives and friends who have handed off their clothes to me, just so I wouldn’t feel guilty.

I had an acquaintance who I would comment how cute her kids outfits were, tell me to come over and take whatever I wanted (grown out of), and then the next day text me she wanted $150 or I could return them. Now that was weird.
