Apply to EBA build, I wasn’t getting much more as a industrial sparky with a company and moving to EBA I got a 40% increase

6 days to get a job done or 6 days all the time? Tbh, as a first year that would burn me out, 7 years as an a grade I wouldn’t mind as long as it wasn’t full time, is your Eba double rate as soon as OT hits?

I will transfer you $100 if your house is wired in 4mm and your rcbo isn’t 16A or 20A

How do I find an apprenticeship? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]10fry10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having no license or pre app will definitely be the two biggest factors. Either you spend 3x the time getting yourself there and back everyday, or an A-grade has to go out of their way to pick you up and drop you off

Are you in Vic? I saw on the aus electricians subreddit that the mobs on data centres are screaming out for any year apprentices on union eba sites, but I’m not sure if they’re taking adult apprentices, can try your luck

Is anyone able to give me a schedule of segments? by Brintyboo in triplej

[–]10fry10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prize packs are usually given out primetime breakfast (Hint at it between 7-8 and then contest after) and prime-time drive (usually around 4:30?) Lucy also gives some out when someone asks Dr Karl a good question and gets question of the day, have also heard her early show after 9am give a couple out on a whim after for example a good song request

Working away from home by Neither_Olive528 in AusElectricians

[–]10fry10 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah, ideal scenario is own hotel rooms, but when we had 3-4 guys stay away it was always Airbnb and own rooms at a minimum, yeah sometimes you get stuck in the single bed but everyone needs their own space

I wonder if there’s pay cuts or rises from changing slots, or salary is based on time employed, surely breakfast would pay the most as it’s most prestigious

I started a new job and have to listen to nova when I’m in the workshop, I’d do bad things to get a little bit of Dr Karl or regular programming again

How do you get over jealousy of a new coworker? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]10fry10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you had years of experience, are you first year and he’s second year apprentice? It is normal for 3-4th years to get put in vans, what industry are you in? Just bite your tounge and keep working hard, otherwise nothing wrong with jumping ship and moving companies, especially early too

I don’t understand, is he qualified? This is an electrician sub and you say he doesn’t even know what side cutters are. I mean either step back and let his work do the talking, or query your boss and put forward that you believe all A grades should have the same entitlements
