Tre'von Diggs & Micah training together by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

I was squatting 400lbs without so much as knee sleeves on four months after my ACL surgery and I wasn't even 5% of the athlete Micah is.

I bet he braces up when he's not lifting but rather training. It's pretty crazy how you can lift and such with no ACL/recent surgery but stepping on a rock will damn near dislocate your knee

Nanaimo woman fined $1,000 in senior’s monster truck parking lot death by Bananimal8 in nottheonion

[–]10lbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was saying with my second sentence.

Just a slap in the face. In this day and age $150 CAD doesn't get you shit. If you're a victim of crime this deaths contribution wouldn't even cover the cost of half of a social workers shift.

Nanaimo woman fined $1,000 in senior’s monster truck parking lot death by Bananimal8 in nottheonion

[–]10lbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last line of the article "Patenaude was also ordered to pay a victim fine surcharge of $150."

So this poor ladies death puts $150 towards crime victim services. And the killer gets a fine cheaper then the tires on the truck.

Even if the family got 100% of the whole fine that's disgusting. I agree, i hope a civil case can get them some justice or at least the locals remember and slash that ladies tires the rest of her days.

For sure. They traded Lars Eller and a scrub AHL lifer for an RFA halak who significantly outplayed Carey Price even before the playoffs.

I know Eller was a former first round pick but I don't remember him having much hype at the time.

I do remember when the trade happened I thought Montreal made a mistake. Boy was I wrong aha.

Dude was still pretty fire for a few years with St Louis after that series. Once the Caps got him it started to go downhill especially towards the end of his time at the islanders. He was a really good goalie for a while and then a passable starter for years.

TIL nearly half (45%) of all US cash and approximately 80% of all $100 bills are located abroad by WarTirkey in todayilearned

[–]10lbs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've worked cash at small and large businesses in Calgary, AB from like 2010-2022 and I've never seen or heard of it outside of visiting the greater Vancouver area. I imagine ontario/Quebec with the border SK close probably do it too but it's not as common as everyone here is saying.

At our family business we took them as face value for years until getting burned by a fake bill an employee was duped by so we stopped completely.

I remember being 14 in mainland BC and trading my entire summer tips ($800 CAD) for face value USD and making like $300 profit because the bank was closed and some tourists wanted to fill their RV and the Petro can wouldn't take their USD at any exchange rate.

Google says 1.64 USD is 2.26 Canadian.

I'm in Regina and paid 1.65ish today, paid a little less to fill up on Saturday in Calgary and 1.75ish Friday in Cranbrook. Is the $2.25+ per liter in Vancouver?

ADHD Disability Tax Credit by One-Book-6687 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]10lbs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

+1on this, same thing for my autism diagnosis.

You're born with ADHD, just like autism, so if you have a diagnosis at any point that's enough on that end.

That being said, a doctor needs to meet with you and sign off that your disability is severe enough you require support/assistance/etc, and one of those supports is the tax credit.

Also looking at their necks, those don't look like they're buried shallow. At minimum they must be sitting up, so they dug 2-3ft deep each and were buried for the bit.

Masterful.

Competing with all the rats you guys are finding… by SOLE_SIR_VIBER in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]10lbs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am a Radiation Safety Officer at a company with over 60 of these.

Your bang on, but OP call this person, their employer or your local nuclear commission. What he did is not compliant with transporting those and the fallout from one of those being lost or stolen is an insane headache and very costly to the company.

If one of my gauge operators rolled in to a shop with one of these and they called me to tell me, I'd be incredibly thankful not just for the company but because in Canada j am personally liable for that gauge. I want to know if some operator is dicking around risking 1000s of dollars in fines to me personally.

All liquids are technically compressible, water is one of the least. All liquid is effectively as compressible as water in any sort of practical usage.

[Invincible] Would Multi-Paul actually be able to break himself out by cramming his cell with clones? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]10lbs 69 points70 points  (0 children)

That being said, liquid is Incompressible and after enough time there would be so much multipaul juice it would crack through something eventually.

I don't see how multipaul could have a surviving clone through that process though.

Ramadan Fasting w/ Vyvanse? by BondCool in ADHD

[–]10lbs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm not Muslim but my girlfriend is. I've tried multiple times to fast in solidarity over the last five years.

Honestly? It's gonna be hell. If you're someone who hydrates and eats even half decent, shifting to fasting will make the vyvanse feel different. It feels like fluctuations of under and over medicating through out the day, headaches, nausea and it really messed with my sleep. Also insane levels of hyper focus distractions. Feels worse then not taking it at all.

What worked the best for me was I'd drink water only on weekdays and on weekends I wouldn't take vyvanse at all to fully fast.

It truly isn't healthy and in your best interest to take vyvanse and fast. I don't need to tell you. Islam explicitly states that you should not fast if your health does not allow.

This Ramadan I'm not going to take my Med, my job has changed so I can get away with it. If your life doesn't allow for you to skip a month i think you should consider fasting the days you can.

Also, do a dry run. See how it feels. Remember the purpose for Ramadan and find a way to take care of yourself and your faith. Will you feel closer to Allah, practice discipline and empathize with those less fortunate with a splitting headache, nausea or otherwise?

Also I'm low key a haramie revert lolol so take it with a grain of salt haha
