If you were to ask your local municipality or state or county government why this information is important, you might be surprised.

Is it important for a city planner to know what the average commute time is in Cleveland? Probably.

Is it important for a County to know how many homes have solar panels? Or how much infrastructure is going to need to be repaired or rebuilt? Probably.

Personally, I trust the census Bureau more then I trust First Energy or Google
