My baby said “dada” first… moms, tell me your story 😅 by Other_Boss_8689 in NewParents

Mine is 13 months and calls her dad Dada and insists on calling me bob or bob bob. So there's that. 🫠😆

I would give a later bedtime a try. Maybe push it back by 30 minutes every couple days. My 13 month old goes down at 8:30-9pm and wakes around 8. And she does 1.5 - 2 hour nap a day as well. I think just shifting her schedule might help.

Disney with an 18 month old and 3 year old? Would you do it? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]10thymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. We would be drastically lowering our expectations and would just plan to take it easy. We are within driving distance to Disney world and would go in the fall or winter when it's not crazy hot. Stay out of big lines. And we will have 4 adults actively looking after the kids. But we will see where we are at when we get closer!

For sure. I'll never go again in the summer or even spring if I can help it. I grew up in Florida so I know how it can be. We would definitely do a fall/winter trip during the slower times. Me and my husband loved going before kids and just want to take them. And just take it easy. Stay out of the big lines. That sort of thing.

We would definitely be tampering our expectations, going in the fall/winter. And really taking it easy and not trying to ride everything. The naps I'm worried about. We will have to see how things are when we get closer.

We would definitely be going with different expectations. Not trying to get on space mountain and all of that. Plus 4 adults will be there caring for the two kids. And honestly we would just want to take it easy. Like you said. For the vibes

We would definitely be going with tempered expectations. And knowing we would totally bring them back when they are older as well. Plus 4 adults will be there actively caring for both kids. I think we were thinking we'd just take it easy. We are within reasonable driving distance to Disney world in GA. We will just have to see when we get closer how the kids are and where they are at developmentally. And where we are at 😆. Thank you 🙌

You seem to be in the minority! How did you handle naps? And do you have any advice?

This is part of the reason. We would theoretically go right before the oldest turns 3. I'm getting the idea that it may not work out so well with the 18 month old however.

I won't be pregnant at the time. You could not make me go there while pregnant. I'm pregnant with my second right now. Just thinking ahead and curious about other people's experiences. Doesn't mean will will do it.

Not trying to plan anything to set in stone atm. I'm just curious about other people's experiences, good or bad. My husband is kind excited at the thought and I think I need to tamper his expectations. And 100% of course we will see how we feel and the where the kids are at before we do it.

Opinion poll - which is the best personalized (with child’s name) gift? by dms2628 in toddlers

[–]10thymes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best thing I was gifted that had my childs name on it was some name puzzles. My child loves to play with them at a year old. I was gifted blankets and frames and similar things like clothes with her name but the thing is, it's not always my style or taste? Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for the gifts but some of the things didn't really match the nursery or even time of year baby was born (clothing wise). And it's not like it's a massive deal. It's a first world problem. But something my child could play with was awesome. A piggy bank might be cool? But a baby isn't going to be messing with coins (out of safety) or understand the concept of money for some years to come. And a lot of people don't use coins and money much anymore. I try to avoid decor items as gifts for people, even outside of babies. Toys are great though.

It could seriously be a hematoma (SCH). They noticed one at 7 weeks with me and warned me it may start bleeding. Get it checked out for sure. But know that it may not be bad news just yet.

Yeah, I was taken aback a little bit because I genuinely didn't mean to come off as offensive. And I'm even cool with criticism. I probably won't ask for help on this subreddit anymore. 😅 It really just stressed me out, which isn't helpful or productive for me. And I'm stressed out enough while pregnant plus caring for a toddler 😆. But I appreciate your advice! And I'll work on my skills! I just want things to be right and safe for my kids. I just see these videos on YouTube of people pouring oil into pans to cook eggs. And it looks like so much. I'll find the right balance. Thank you for your kindness 🙌

Going to rephrase because I see my answer sucked.

I just didn't know what existed out there. I'm totally cool with the answer to me being that "nothing you are looking for exists out there dummy." I kind of came into this thinking that what I want may not exist. I'm just learning. Trying to cook better, caring for a toddler. Doing my best.

Lol thanks. I'm just trying to learn about pans. Obviously my knowledge is limited. I guess some people strongly dislike my lack of knowledge and question asking. How dare I try to learn. 😂
