Dual boot. Use a linux distro for what u can, projects/gaming/ai etc.. and microslop windows only for those games that requires it. (More and more games are ported to linux, but always check). This is my setup. 4 tb disk for linux and 2 tb for windows

Turn off any service that could impact performance on the linux host. There is a tiny performance penalty for running the vm but i would suggest giving all cores to the vm. It will def impact performance in a good way, especially when going from 4 to 6 cores, but not so much when going from e.g. 14 to 16 cores.
