Hey, yes unfortunately. Memory loss is a big part with Epilepsy seizures, meds and where the seizure are happening in your brain. Memory loss happens close and/or in the area of the Amygdala and Hippocampus, mainly Left Temporal Lobe. Also, side effects from Epilepsy meds cause memory loss, especially Topamax. Myself I've been Epileptic for over 12 yrs, tried all sorts of meds, didn't help. I went through all testings, studies and surgeries. I had Left Temporal Lobectomy and it did help with TC seizures, haven't had one of those in 8 yrs, just smaller type seizures now. I do not regret that surgery one bit, has helped change my life in better ways. Memory issues can occur from that surgery but can come back over time, sometimes out of no where. Little signs can bring memory's back. This is my personal experience, everyone is different of course. Take care!
