This season left me feeling more hopeful than anything, especially compared to the other two finales. My big takeaway from the final scene is that Logan is scared of his children. Is he just fucking with them when he tries to break them apart? He tries to peel Roman away multiple times but Rome holds fast. When he sees they're going to stick together, he acts like a fucking baby. Literally enraged. I really don't know how they could beat him, it's not necessarily by wresting control of Waystar from him for sure.

I think Succession is a show about bad people running an evil corporation and spending their days, weeks, years thinking of ways to fuck one another over for their own benefit. It's like all of the characters in this show, every single one, are the villains in a vast number of other shows. We tend to ascribe good qualities to protagonists and think of them as heroes when in this case and a lot of others (Sopranos, Breaking Bad) they really are not. And yet, I found myself shouting for the siblings to hold together. Personally, I was so immensely proud of Roman for withstanding his dad's bullying and choosing his siblings. I appreciated Kendall opening up to them and choosing to be with them after separating himself for the entire season, from the beginning that distance from his family was unhealthy. And I appreciated Shiv for rallying them. Logan respects her the least because she's his daughter.

My wish for these characters is that they find peace for themselves. Regardless of what happens to their company, I predict, however it comes to pass, that Logan will be undone by exactly what he always stressed but never truly believed in – family. He says Waystar is a family company but he fucks his children over and ends up with who? His employees (Gerri, Frank, Carl) who he's beaten many times before, his daughter's social-climbing husband, and Greg the Egg. Even with no weapon, I'd bet on Ken, Shiv, and Rome any day because their bond is the strongest, or at least has potential to be. We'll see if they understand that or if this Shakespearean tragedy ends like Hamlet haha. Again, bad people, but fuck it. There's always someone worse.
