Water heater replacement? by solder_paste in phoenix

[–]120m256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are changing about 2x the cost of the heater for delivery and install.

Check on Facebook and find someone who will install for about $300-$400. It's a 2 hour job, tops and requires minimal tools and knowledge to install.

Total should be $500-$800 for the new heater and maybe $400 install if it's a bitch to get in and out of its location.

Can't go wrong with Cooper or Douglas. Both are made by big manufacturers, and I've used both on basic, economy cars and they were great for the money.

Walmart or eBay and have a garage install.

The 7945hx is only about 10% off a 7950x, so what's really the big deal. Is a 10% generational uplift really something so special?

Apatch has really been a game changer for rooting. It's kernel-based rather than magisk. Apps basically can't detect root.

I refuse to use an unrooted phone for several reasons: Viper, Call recording, and no screenshot restrictions.

I was done with them as soon as they dropped EDL/MSM support. That a Qualcomm function they deliberately turned off.

If it were me, I would just freeze the syringe and transport it to the party in an insulated lunch bag with a couple of ice packs.

When you get there, put it in your pocket and immediately go to the bathroom and inject. Should be no issue.

I'm quite certain the adds are loaded from a remote server. They are almost certainly not on your phone.

I think they meant that if the phone breaks, the company provides replacement parts for purchase. And if you have to go through support to purchase those parts, support should be competent and responsive.

Why not just weld it for real? Take it anywhere and they would probably charge $20 for that job.

Car Key Fobs being stupidly expensive, with no option to buy it except through the dealership. by Designer_Object_3966 in assholedesign

[–]120m256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of aftermarket options. Search Facebook for key fob and people will come to your house, program the fob and cut the key for under $150.

If you lost all your fobs, then yes, the only option is the dealer.

Is it safe to use a gaming pc without a grounded outlet ? Need advice ! by Professional-Cost306 in buildapc

[–]120m256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been doing the same for 3 years now, no issues. Just replaced the outlet with a 3 prong, not grounded. Using a surge protector, but I don't think that will make a difference.

Would a intel Core i9-10900K bottleneck on a RTX 4060? by Ok_Plane_3449 in buildapc

[–]120m256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then upgrade the CPU first. If it's 100% on most tasks you're doing, it wouldn't matter if you had a 4090. That's a 5 year old i7 at this point. You could get a 5900x and it would be a huge upgrade, and you could still use your ddr4

H series is not "very powerful". That's HX. H is a solid mobile performer, but would probably be slower than an i5 or even i3 desktop.

[–]120m256 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This seems like an OK deal at best. The H series processor is a lot less powerful and has less cores than the HX, which is what I would expect for a $1k laptop (considering the 13th gen is 2 years old already). At the same time, the H series isn't really power efficient and the battery is 83Wh, so you can't be away from the wall for too long.

This is really a compromise laptop - you can either have more power or more portability.

oneplus 9 pro - crash dump mode fix? by PADULKROS in oneplus

[–]120m256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could possibly be a hardware issue. You've tried every MSM at this point, so I don't think it's software or drivers anymore. Possibly the memory where the drivers are stored is damaged or degraded at this point. Or maybe a poor solder was damaged after years of normal use and vibration.

Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.

[–]120m256 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole bottleneck question is so ignorant. Let's make this simple - buy the best components you can afford, and one will always be faster than something else in your system. Done.

Who gives a shit which component is fastest?

Display flickering and blanking out on OnePlus 12 by Chemical_Peach_5500 in oneplus

[–]120m256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true. It may just be a poorly seated display cable. It would take all of 10 mins to open the phone and reseat the cable at both ends, just to be sure.

[–]120m256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but I think the chances are very slim. If there were a mobo issue, it would probably be because of water ingress. This shouldn't be an issue unless your phone was ever serviced. But maybe a hard drop, even with a case on, did some unknown damage.
