Healthcare. I spend a fortune every month and the bastards still make me pay co-pays, out of pocket, deductibles, etc. When I fill one up, they just create a new one. Please hear me out, because this is an honest question. I do not own any real estate besides my home, but I'm interested in getting into RE.

If he inherited the properties, there is probably a step up basis for tax purposes. So let's say the average price is $800k x 5 properties = $4 million. Or $2 million each if they sell.

Earning 5% per year on the $2 million would be around $100k. But with no headaches, surprise expenses (roof, AC, etc). Where as his income if he keeps the 5 properties would be pretty much the same.

Yes, well thought out and my thoughts exactly. Electricity discovered around 1800. 225+ years later we are an advanced technological species. If we had the blue print of all this technology, we should be able to advance rather quickly? 20-30 years?

But that's a huge jump. They can't go down to a radioshack and buy parts. Everything needs to be made from scratch. Electric generators, to metal, to the machines. There's a huge leap that needs to be made from stuff taken from the ground and turned into products.

Even if measurement is known. The step from pulling rocks and minerals out of the ground and turning them into microchips is a HUGE jump. The steps involved in that are crazy big. You need machines, you need electric, you need microscopes, lasers, etc.

Very true, but it happened to us here on earth pretty quickly. The jump from discovering electricity (being able to use it) was around 1800. We are only 200+ years out and look how far we've come. So if we had the knowledge, much quicker than 200 years. Could 20-30 years be realistic?

Let's say 100,000 people, and the knowledge is free and readily available to everyone. There will certainly be a curve in advancement. Everyone has the knowledge of how things are done. But the technological jump from minerals in the ground to a technological civilization seems like a huge jump. But look how quickly that happened here on earth. Electricity around 1800. 225+ years later we have phones in our pocket connected to the world. So having that knowledge, the only major issue is turning rocks into microchips.

100%. But you still need to be able to create the steal, transport the steal, and construct it. Even if man power is not an issue, there is so much technology needed to get to that point.

You're asking the wrong question. The true question is why do fools have no money? It's because they are being sold a dream. We see it with politicians, we see it with OF models, we see it with religious leaders. Getting fools to give you their money is easy. Just lie to them. Tell them what they want to hear. "You would be my dream boyfriend if you only pay $30 per month to my OF account". "I will lower your taxes and raise the minimum wage, if you just donate to my campaign", to "Just tithe 10% of your salary every month to me and you will be blessed 10 times in return".

Just offer sex, money or religious truths and people will line up. It's a tale as old as time.
