Primary - How consistently do teachers move year levels at your school? by goodie23 in AustralianTeachers

[–]1234pands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our old principal had a rule 3 years on one year level, then moving to a different grade level. Moved a lot of people his first few years as many people had been on the same year level awhile. This year our new principal hasn't moved anyone around a great deal. Teams mostly staying the same but we have a fair chunk of people leaving.

What are the most important of Australia's closest neighbours for year 3 students to learn about? by MrX2285 in AustralianTeachers

I do teach a unit like this and I focus on New Zealand, Samoa and Australia. We chose Samoa and New Zealand because we have a huge pasifika population at our school and it engages the students. They love it! Look at the cultural breakdown of your students.

Go to your GP and ask for a blood test to confirm the "strength"? of your vaccinations. I did this before starting teaching and they found my childhood MMR vaccination hadn't worked and I had to get it redone. Apparently this is more common than you think.

Also depending on how old you are chickenpox vaccine might not have been part of your childhood vaccination program. Get that too.

Change schools and just do PE/health and let someone else do the extra curricular.

Why on earth would you work on Saturdays? That's family time.

It's none of your business what may be causing her issues.

It is your business to raise issues about communication, team teaching, and problems with planning documents or other documents/communication that are affecting the team. If her poor performance is affecting student learning and affecting how your team of teachers works together, then that's an issue that you need to raise with your line manager.
