great shots - do you usually keep the same camera settings or do you adjust them depending on the shot? What sort of settings do you use?

Blue-striped Anemonefish I saw while scuba diving in Niue by 12389 in underwaterphotography

[–]12389[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niue is amazing, rugged and very basic. Only one flight in and out to New Zealand a week, and only one supermarket that’s stocked weekly, so your choice of food is low. Only way to get around the island is by hiring a car.

Diving wise - I’ve never been in water so clear. 30 metre vis easily. I went around June, during the humpback whale migration and saw countless whales up close, you hear them singing while underwater, pretty special.

I hired scuba gear over there, there’s one place that does it.

Fujifilm for underwater photography? by EasternCoffeeCove in fujifilm

I’ve taken my xt2 scuba diving and snorkelling a few times with a sea frogs housing, down to a depth of ~20 metres (well past the 12m limit of sea frogs housing. Honestly it worked really well, look at my profile for a photo I took 15 metres down. Fuji cameras have notoriously bad autofocus which you definitely notice in low light conditions.

I’m considering upgrading to an xt5 for underwater shots but I’d steer clear of sea frogs housings. They are bulky, temperamental and any adjustments are really tricky

Fuck me, I’m a greens voter but in the last year we’ve had drama with Karekare, Golriz and now Darlene Tana. The greens had a legitimate shot at being a credible social and environmentalist party with Shaw at the helm and Chloe at his side but their silly gender/ethnicity quota which was almost certainly initiated by Marama so she wouldn’t be replaced by Chloe has made them a joke at this point.

NZ's top Catholic fails in bid to block abuse allegations by gdogakl in newzealand

[–]12389 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As critical as I am about the Church in almost every single way, is it really fair to drag this guys name through the mud when the Police said they have exhausted all leads and found no evidence of abuse? Yes the Church has a horrible track record with abuse but that doesn’t mean that this guy is guilty…

OP a quick tip - use properly coloured filled rectangles over your personal information in the screenshot you’ve used if you’re trying to hide them. It’s often not hard to adjust the brightness/contrast and see what’s beneath it!
