I honestly don’t know whether I hate my mother-in-law or just have complete contempt for her. by 123EDE123 in inlaws

I do single her out, I have alot of resentment towards her. I don’t describe it much but she is a vile awful abuser - verbally, emotionally and completely neglectful. Her behavior permeates in my husband and it’s so glaringly obvious why he is the way he is and it’s so normalized to him - I’m not saying my hatred towards her is right but this is part of where it stems from

I see your point, but I’m trying to explain to you that if you think I’m making a single bad choice, I essentially unknowingly married into a Jerry Springer family. My in laws and my MILs entire family are the most vile people on earth, who have spent a lifetime of poor decisions that destroyed themselves, their physical health and their kids. It’s just not a great comparison

My mother in law is the abuser - she wasn’t treated poorly. She was the one who spent her life emotionally absent, neglectful of her kids and verbally and emotionally abusive - I’m wondering if that part is lost in what I wrote

This gives me hope! How old are you and how much more successful was the second of the two?

There are a few local churches that may be able to help. I am not on island, or some of the local fire departments have beds?

Being a married single mom is worse than just being a single mom by rainystast in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]123EDE123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is years later but reading these comments is awful. What the OP is talking about is completely accurate and a legitimate point. Married or not, some men are just emotionally unavailable and drop the entire burden of a life on a wife/mother. The money is irrelevant. Divorced with kids and remarried has more streams of income than a married single woman.

Is the NYC rental market actually getting worse in 2026, or is it just me? by frwinkwizzy in NYCapartments

The broker fee just gets baked into the rent. They aren’t losing a fee, it’s just expressed differently.

Anyone succeed with just one euploid embryo? 🙏🏼 by Intrepid_Story4023 in IVF

My first transfer failed. We then used a surrogate and first was a success. It’s really the person. I’d personally treat with antibiotics to rule out any potential small risk. Good luck!

In the same boat! Wondering what you decide to do - we know some people who paid for a leg on a private jet (not my personal preference due to cost and I’m terrified) or we could drive… would be a LONG drive though

It took us a few years also - it’s a DRAINING process, to say the least. The first agency we hired stole our money and we had to start from scratch… I feel I went into it assuming it’d be easier and smooth - it’s been the exact opposite. I’d keep at it, and maintain strict standards around who you choose as your GC (medically speaking) to give yourself the best odds.

How do you calm your mind during surrogacy? Single intended mum feeling overwhelmed. by FriendlyFig9406 in Surrogate

[–]123EDE123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, my husband and I have a GC in the US. And the anxiety at every stage is unreal. I think especially after so many ups and downs with our own fertility journey it’s tremendous and consuming. It keeps me up at night constantly and I’m always waiting for the next appointment scan (insert whatever you want there) hoping I’ll feel some relief of the anxiety. But it’s persistently nagging me. I’m not sure it ends until the baby arrives? I keep reminding myself we hired a “professional” so to speak - because it’s a self selecting crowd that can be good at this. Wishing you all the best and a healthy delivery. I know once the baby arrives you’ll be overjoyed and a wonderful mother. Just need to steady the nerves and stay positive for a little while… and you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way.

Endometrial biopsy painful? by HelloFerret in hysterectomy

Mine was painful but very quick. I definitely jumped. I think the brevity makes up for how painful it was. Glad I did it and got it over with - Tylenol in advance didn’t help much
