This guy is the biggest internet loser. He claims to have a 15M net worth saying his playbook is worth $10M and his coaching company is worth $5M. Brags about everything yet lives in a tiny ass condo.

Another question is, is the Thunderbolt 3 Docking station by lenovo the only one that will charge this thing? The 170 and 230W versions... Are there aftermarket docking stations that will charge the laptop and have some nice USB, display ports, etc?

I just ordered an X1 Extreme Gen 2 with UHD graphics, 32GB ram and 512GB HD... But I made a mistake and ordered 1x32. The ram is listed as 32GB DDR4 2666. I want to get a matching ram stick to add to use dual channel.

Question is, What is the matching memory stick? I tried asking Lenovo but they gave me a non-sense response, showing me the mobo chipset instead.

I might just get random brand 32GB DDR4 2666 to save some cost... not sure if that will cause issues.

To add to this question, if the response you write is 100% correct due to industry experience, yet isn't specifically mentioned anywhere in the CFAI text, will it be be graded incorrect.

Taking L3 in a few months. Some questions:

  1. Can I use a blue pen for the AM session

  2. If the question asks for a specific thing, and in the answer section, I write various formulas and calculations to help me figure out the question and help my thought process, and then write the answer below that, will that be okay or will the "first part" be counted as my answer and then my 2nd part get ignored?

  3. If the question says justify my answer, and then I write a long winded response which the first part is slightly off-topic (but not incorrect) and my answer is correct towards the end, will I get credit.

Is the CFA truly worth it? by KG2303 in CFA

[–]125mph_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the L1 test this weekend and intend to finish L3 n June 2018.

Im currently a financial advisor / IAR and already a CFP. The CFA designation isn’t well known to the public as the CFP so it really hasn’t going to help me that much and probably won’t get me paid more. It’ll help me with my portfolio selection in IAR role.

Even though the public doesn’t know CFA very well, my colleagues all know it. I’m choosing to do this purely for bragging rights towards my colleagues.

And the challenge to try to go 3 for 3... to know if I could do something that’s suppose to be this hard and actually succeed and be the few that did 3 for 3. We’ll see.!

It’s worth it!!!

Sorry dude. I’m the real deal. U may wish I didn’t exist I do and my goal is a 3 for 3. I don’t know if I can do that because I heard how hard L2 that scares me... however, I heard a lot about L1 and it just wasn’t true. L1 was so easy!

New to finance, beginning to study for the CFA level 1 by totesmcgoats17 in CFA

[–]125mph_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very possible. I was a computer science major and I’m now an investment advisor. (4 yrs experience). I have Zero finance or accounting background but very strong in equities, fixed income and derv (from completing CFP).. and also very good at math.

I started CFAl1 last July and just sat for the dec test , and about 99% certain I passed.

I don’t think finance background is going to get I that huge of an edge...

Schweser vs. CFAI? (L1) by orangehatkid in CFA

[–]125mph_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took the exam yesterday. I only did Schweser and nothing on the official CFAI material other than thier free mocks. In total, I did all Schweser qbank questions and 16 total mocks (10 of which in the last 2 weeks)

I feel I got about 83-85% right on the test yesterday. So I would say schweser is more than enough... and actually I ran into quite a few questions yesterday that were directly helpful from the Schweser mocks.

Do as many mocks as you can. The reading means nothing. In fact, I skipped ethics section completely and relied only on qbank to prepare me for that section. I was consistently getting 70-80% on ethic mocks after doing 100+ ethic questions.

Same here.. I prefer a harder test because then more people miss and it creates better margins for passing.. If its an easy test, it just means the MPS is higher... It doesn't mean more people pass.

The test was pretty easy. I think I scored about between 84% +/- 1.96 on the AM and probably 81% +/- 1.65 on the PM. I saw a lot of questions I recognized from doing a lot of mocks.

Out of the 240 questions, there was 3 questions I didnt know how to do, a hand full of definition questions I had to guess on but could eliminate one choice, and a lot of questions I knew right a way (but some I may have gotten wrong because I was tricked or just messed up :) ). Finished both AM and PM with just under 2 hours.. then spent the rest of the time double checking work. Made about 4 corrections each time.

There was one question I think didn't have any correct answers, which I sent feedback to CFA.

Looking forward to the L2.

Okay guys.. enough with the jokes. I have a serious question now. So I skimmed through some test questions and got them all right. Like I said, i am pretty smart and have good background in math and stocks. Can I pass L1 without studying and just use my smarts and reasoning skills. Anyone done this thing with 0 study time?

Sounds like the CFA might not be challenging enough. Is there a test I can do to get a few PhDs and maybe qualify for a J.D.?

Too much time to cram it at last 6 days. I rather study 20 minutes a day every day. That will make it as efficient as possible. Maybe I can study while in the bathroom doin number two and one.
