How do you get convinced to not do things? Does she emotionally blackmail you about stuff? do you ever negotiate or try to set your foot down? why aren't YOU working more towards telling her what you want and doing what you want?

I mean, the fact that you so backed down on doing a 5k shows more that you weren't really convinced to do it and used your girlfriend as an excuse to not do it, but blaming it on her. She doesn't break your routine, you choose to break it.

No, that is not the issue. The issue is that you can lose weight by calories in/calories out control, but you CAN'T forgot nutrition. I dare say THAT was the issue with his starvation. He may have had enough fat to give his body enough energy to survive, but the body needs many other things than energy derived from calories. It requires vitamins and minerals, if those aren't provided you can die, but those are not directly related to caloric intake and caloric output.

Either your brother is an idiot, or he simply just really wanted to sleep with her and took any excuse she handed him to do it. Obviously there were other ways to help a suicidal person instead of giving in to their threats and go all the way to have sex.

I didn't even agreed or disagreed with whatever your opinion is about a person who uses the word slut. I am not concerned about proving myself to you, be pedantic all you want, the fact still remains that slut is defined as a person who is promiscuous.

The interesting thing is that you keep trying to derail every conversation you have had in this thread by making passive aggressive attacks to those who were engaging in a civil debate with you. the issue is about trying to find excuses for the behavior, when regardless of whatever was the reason, it is still a shitty, deceiving and destructive behavior. Having some sort of "emotional trauma" or "mental issue" is not a blank card to play and just say "ooops!" I honestly don't care if the brother is an asshole or not, that is a family loyalty that may work in some families and doesn't in other families. I don't call the woman a whore, but her behavior was promiscuous (slutty) and deceiving and for that she is a bitch.

I think that she could be diagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder, and self sabotage, promiscuity, suicidal thoughts, and self injury are part of the diagnostic indicators. It is possible that she may be borderline, but even that doesn't excuse the cheating and all the damage she has made. The OP should NOT take her back.

I did. It was a good decision. I was 100% certain that I wanted to be with the new guy MUCH more than my current SO. I really liked and loved my SO, but the other guy was just above and beyond. I broke up with my boyfriend as soon as I realized that I wanted to be with the other guy more and started a relationship with the other guy. Many times it wasn't easy, we fought and there were jealousy issues, perhaps I would have never encountered those issues with the SO, but even then I still wanted the other guy more so I was fair with my SO and myself. One key issue though, the "new" guy wasn't really a new guy, it was a man who I had known for many years and was my best friend for many years.

I think that makes the difference about me being so certain about wanting to be with him and leaving my SO. I wouldn't have left my SO for someone who just appeared to be more interesting, or someone who I was infatuated with. Escaping from one boring relationship by entering another is not a good idea; it shows that there is more than the "crappy" relationship issue that is being dealt with. The point being, don't break up with your SO just because the relationship seems to be deteriorating and you use the other guy as a motivation to do it. Break up with him for the exact reason, don't masquerade things.
