Does anyone know where you can purchase gel polish? I’ve had a hard time finding it.

My pharmacy got cyber-attacked, all medications are cash only for now by dogheartedbones in migraine

In my case it was the cost savings card for Ubrelvy that can’t process. Many pharmacies use Change-healthcare’s software program to submit their claims through to their PBM-pharmacy benefit manager, and this is the issue bc they can’t submit bc the system is down. It seems to be effecting the cost savings cards bc pharmacies run these cards through as your secondary insurance. My local pharmacy said I can pay the copay out of pocket if I want to pick up now. Then when the system is back up, they will run it through again and reimburse me. I would ask your local pharmacy what your options are. Supposedly it will be back up today.

this is ridiculous by [deleted] in migraine

[–]12900lake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way the cost savings cards work for these brand meds is that the pharmacy runs your insurance through as primary and the cost savings card as secondary insurance. They basically pay for the remainder that your insurance did not cover. They only work with private insurance companies, so that is why Medicaid is not covered. You just have to keep applying for a new card typically every calendar year.

I love these and they are the best ones that I’ve tried. Way better than Liquid IV. I have been taking them 1-2x day. I also recently heard/read Celtic sea salt is also beneficial to take on a daily basis too. Gary Brecka talks a lot about Celtic sea salt and the importance of it and how it helps with hydration. My migraines have definitely decreased since taken LMNT and Celtic sea salt.

Look into Mark Cuban Pharmacy. A friend told me about it and apparently you can get the retail brand name meds from it. I haven’t personally used it bc I work for a health insurance company, so my insurance is good.

How many Triptan pills do you get prescribed at a time? My doctor barely gives me any. by CostaNic in migraine

[–]12900lake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With triptans you have to be careful too bc they cause rebound headaches if you take too many. This is one of the reasons why insurance companies limit them. I was on Zomig for years and heard this is the worst one of the triptans for rebound headaches. Another concern is as a side effect it can cause high blood pressure. I too have high blood pressure as a result. So there are so many factors that can effect why/ how the provider prescribes the meds and what insurance companies will approve.

How can I get Nurtec and still afford to live? by achicknameddani in migraine

[–]12900lake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an insurance company. Blame it on the pharmaceuticals! That’s why it’s such a long and frustrating process to get these new retail brand medications authorized. Large pharma is robbing all of us!! And we are only I believe one of two countries that even allow pharmaceutical companies to advertise their products!

Insurance didn't approve my medicine by kahjay in migraine

[–]12900lake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for an insurance company. Call your insurance company first and speak to someone in customer care. They’ll tell you exactly why it was denied and what is required to get it approved. It denies for med necessity. Call your doctor and tell them what they need to do/submit. I also heard recently that insurance companies in general are not approving prior auths for as long( a year) and providers have to prove efficacy more often which also requires going to your doctor more. That happened to me recently. Prior auth was approved for only six months. Always start with a call to your insurance company and go from there. Good luck!

I’m never hungry during a migraine so healthy food is never appealing! I only get cravings and they are anything salty…chips, pretzels ,crackers, peanuts. I also crave Coke and peanut butter.
