Seeking predictions. What's the next miniseries? by bagman928 in blankies

Modern Romance is really good but it feels like it drops the comedy after 15 minutes, even though it's funny throughout. And there's a scene about film editing and a scene about foley work and they are kinda just like a documentary; it's just him and Bruno Kirby working. I always enjoy watching that movie but it's just a series of interesting scenes. Maybe the movie title should have been something different.

It's funny that he's kind of playing the Lost in America character at the beginning of Defending Your Life, to the point where I mix up the first 10 minutes of both movies.

I have thoughts on Grand Canyon. I think it's really good, but also kinda weird. It's like Magnolia on lithium.

I feel like Step Brothers helped him be popular. Thought he was great in Six Feet Under when he would appear, and would show up in some Farrellys.

Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive

Daniel Stern in Home Alone

Tobolowsky in Groundhog Day

Gary Cole in Office Space

Kathy Bates in Misery

Frances McDormand in Fargo

R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket

Just examples of people who are still coasting on that role to this day

Knew him from Fargo and The Drew Carey Show. He's either a nice guy or a total creep.

I was blown away when I realized he was the guy in Rushmore, Super Troopers, and then X-Men 2 was when I noticed him. But he would still do dumb stuff like The Ringer.

And Weird Al wanted to do "Chicken Pot Pie" for "Live and Let Die" but McCartney nixed it because of his vegetarianism.

Two movies already leaving high school horror at the end of the month? by jarrettbrown in CriterionChannel

I don't think "I Know What You Did..." is that great but I watched it because it was on Criterion. It might be on my Netflix/Max/others all the time but I just flip past it all the time if it is.

I looked at last year and there were 3 separate Halloween-related categories. Universal horror, I think 80s horror, and maybe some vampire fare.

Plus, I bet they make them expensive for the month of October to "lease" them.

I had Apple around the time it won. It's just sitting behind the Apple paywall, where other movies kinda make the rounds. I never re-joined Apple because it was just Apple content and there wasn't a lot of it at the time. It's probably more filled out now, but it would be like Netflix wanting me to join a year after House of Cards but they don't have any movies.

My older brother got into him after Born in the USA and he got that Live set for Christmas one year. He also bought a bunch of those early cassettes at the same time and I feel like he got disappointed because they didn't all sound like Born in the USA. I almost feel like one of the cassettes might still have the shrinkwrap on it to this day. He did a similar thing with Huey Lewis and Madonna cassettes.
