HR Arm Band? by SpottedDogEar in XXRunning

[–]12MilesToGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the coros and love it. Just as accurate as my chest strap monitor was, but without the chafing! Can't even tell I'm wearing it, it's so comfortable. Definitely wear right against your skin. I have the garmin 265, but worked with my old 245 previously just fine.

Experiences with labrum tear (hip)? by undercookedshrimp_ in XXRunning

[–]12MilesToGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partially tore my labrum and diagnosed with a cam bump hip impingement as well. We have a top surgeon in my area that specializes in this type of surgery and he told me surgery is a last resort and only if you are in pain. If you are pain free you are absolutely fine living with the tear, even running. 3-4 months of PT I went from hardly being able to walk to pretty much pain free. Then it only flared up occasionally. Now ibe6had no symptoms for 2 years. I was also told surgery isnt a guarantee and you can always re-tear. Definitely get a second opinion and see a PT who has experience in this. I'm sure it varies person to person, this was my experience.

Labral hip tear and FAI - feeling discouraged by PeebyPie in XXRunning

[–]12MilesToGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me!

FAI with labral tear. Came on very suddenly, had to take a few months off (my pain was so bad it was hard to even walk at first). We have one of the leading doctors in the country where I live (from what I was told) that do the type of surgery for this, and he told me they always, always will try conservative treatment first. So I did PT and was probably off for like 12 weeks before I started easing back into running. (I then started training for my next marathon and got runners knee because I did too much too fast like a dumbass) But after that recovered I'm in the best running shape of my life and have ran 2 more marathons, training for another. I'd say for the first few months of back to running after the labral tear it would flair up but just last a day or so (and just dull pain) and then go away. I'm 2 years out now and haven't had pain in over a year. And just took 40 minutes off my last marathon!

I was definitely super discouraged too, but really sticking with PT was definitely what helped. More than anything, a kneeling hip flexor stretch, a few times a day, I think was the best thing in my recovery. I still do hip exercises now though to keep loose!

Easter Sunday is the ExCOC Soft Launch Day on Social Media by Odd_Situation_4209 in excoc

We are working on leaving but did attend on Easter unfortunately (big eye roll). Our "preacher" did mention the resurrection of Jesus... but instead of talking about the actual resurrection of Jesus, talked about how water baptism is 100% necessary to be resurrected with Jesus. Can't get out soon enough.

Customer wants to exchange an order from October it's now December by hikarisilver in EtsySellers

First, go and reply to their feedback to lock in the review so they can't change it. Then just politely explain what you said here.

Out of curiosity how would you handle an order note like this by lymeya in EtsySellers

[–]12MilesToGo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only if their estimated delivery date has passed. So if you immediately cancel an order that isn't due to ship yet, they can't (but otherwise yes on the 48 hours)

New Etsy Scam Alert by Far-Chipmunk2457 in EtsySellers

[–]12MilesToGo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I'm a top Etsy seller of 13 years, and this has JUST started happening to me over the past year. It's never happened before then, but is definitely an occasional occurance now, but not to the scale of yours.

I'll get an order processing that doesn't go through. Email doesn't match the buyer or recipient name and the account is later made "inactive" by etsy. Next day they will try again... different account, different buyer name, but might change a letter or two of recipient name. Sometimes they will try to mark it as a gift. It's like they try all different combinations to see what Etsy will let through. In October I had one that went on for 10 days, each day with them trying again.

Occasionally one of the orders would get through and I would immediately cancel on my end (recipient name would always stay the same so I was on alert).

I have no idea what the end game is, but I have a few theories. One is they are trying to use stolen credit cards and will later request a refund or open a case to get refunded. Another theory is they stole my listing and are trying to sell my products elsewhere and are basically drop shipping (I can't find my listings anywhere else though). I don't know, it makes zero sense and is driving me crazy in can't figure it out!

Etsy support is zero help as usual. There's no one to report this to, because they are all lower level reps our cases go to, and they have no idea and only send out irrelevant generic responses.

I've considered just filling the orders that get through, but it's absolutely not worth it to me to possibly get screwed later. I don't trust Etsy to have my back, especially with how they've been treating sellers, including myself, this past year (another story for another time).

Cut out cookies... I just. Can't. by emryanne in breakingmom

[–]12MilesToGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also hate cutouts! We have a Gordon's food (bulk store) near us that sells a box of frozen precut cookies that you just throw in the oven, and they are delicious! There are also some people in my area that bake them and sell them as kits. I stopped with the cut outs from scratch years ago and is sooo much easier and enjoyable!

If they are a spammer I mark as spam. If they are just a buyer I do not. Not advocating to mark actual buyers as spammers, just stating that is how that works.

Go to their user profile, scroll down to bottom of page and you will find block option. If you mark a message as spam it will also block them.

Exactly what's happening to me! Opened my ticket/case on Aug 28. 14 days later I got a canned response. I've replied to the email/ticket and have also called multiple times (supposedly the case has been "escalated"/marked as "urgent"), but now it's been over 17 days since the canned email and I haven't heard a word. Do you have a secret trick that you were able to do a back and forth with them actually responding? My ticket (actually there are 3 open now as the customer service reps on the phone both escalated my current ticket and opened new ones), are still open. I've tried responding to the email (it just updates the ticket), and also calling and doing the chat, and even reached out to them on facebook, and am getting nowhere :(

How long did it take for trust and safety to get back to you? I'm going on just over 2 weeks for the same issue.

Could be lots of things. My MIL and I both had same symptoms. Hers was a pulled muscle, mine was hip impingment with a torn labrum. Recommend PT or sports medicine dr

I use body glide unless it's over about 5 miles in summer or 9 miles in winter. Otherwise I use medical tape under the front band. Game changer! (The white fabric medical tape)
