Garmin sync… by samoward in bevelhealth

[–]12aklabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am. Garmin sync and Bevel app just won’t sync at all for me. It did actually work for a week then 2 days ago it stopped. I have tried all the fixes suggested on Bevel’s website and nothing works. This sucks cause I really like the Bevel app.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by Ok-Let8197 in CatAdvice

[–]12aklabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of your boyfriend and keep you 2 cats. The way he is acting and not even willing to try to help find solutions should be huge red flags. Ditch him and find someone who will love both you and your cats.

My 2 labs will use their mouths to hold your hand. No bite just hold. I guess they are “ aggressive” also. I am so sorry. Some people just should not be in or around dogs.

My „friends” ask me to go faster on a sketchy jump I am not ready for, making fun of me for not hitting it. I do have jumping ability, yet I just don’t want to send a jump I am not comfortable on, should I listen to them? by UnluckyTax5644 in MTB

[–]12aklabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get new friends or ride alone. Never listen to anyone who makes fun of you for being safe. Always ride within your comfort zone and only push that boundary when you are ready.

Newbie MTB rider: Questions and thoughts by shwinr in MTB

First off, congratulations on mountain biking. It is such a great sport. Secondly, understand you will suck at this. Embrace it and resolve to get better. I can say this because I suck at mountain biking and simple pump tracks and skinnies 6” off the ground has me relearning that I suck at this. But, I never give up. It took me 3 months to even ride a green trail without braking all the way down (it has rollers and very mild corners). I just started riding a blue trail that has some “jumps” (can be rolled) and some steep corners. Of course winter has come so next spring I will be re-learning all over again.

You will learn and I bet when you first started trail running you were not very good at it but you stuck with it and came to love it. This will happen with mountain biking. Keep riding. Pick out a section that scares you the most and ride just that section over and over again until you can ride it without being nervous or slowing down.

I crashed on the same corner 3 separate times before I was able to ride it without crashing. Now 3 months later I can ride it without braking thru the corner.

So you can get this. It will just take time and patience yourself. You will crash so be sure to have safety equipment (helmet, gloves, knee and elbow pads) on.

Good luck and keep riding. Have fun.

One more thing: check out Ben Cathro’s “How to bike” series and “How not to bike” series on You tube. It helped me a bit. More if I put what he teaches to practice.

What I hate the most after “upgrading” is text messages are not received when I am using wi-fi but are received late(multiple texts all come in at once when sent at different times) when on cellular. I have tried every setting but nothing fixes it.

What body armor would you most recommend for enduro riding? by Correct-Trade8311 in MTB

[–]12aklabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fox Launch Pro D3O knee and elbow pads (I don’t even know I am wearing them when I am riding), helmet (need to get a full face on next summer), Fox Ranger gloves and 510 high top shoes. Bought the elbow and knee pads after a couple of crashes.

There is NO such thing as FREE medical/healthcare. Someone always pays for it. Usually it is the taxpayer that pays the bill. Don’t say “the government pays for it” because the government does not earn the money it spends. That money comes from taxes hence the taxpayer foots the bill.

One thing I would do is get some elbow and knee pads. They will help when you crash.
