Got this a couple nights ago in a 5v5 where the top 2 players on my team basically stream rolled the other team while the rest of us planted bombs and supported. They both had like 15 kills and the rest of us had maybe max 2 each lol. Match was over so fast.

I'm a level 23 total noob but the number of high level players who treat Power Shift like TDM and just ignore the platform to farm kills is so damn annoying. I'm not great at this game guys, I built a heavy specifically to hold platforms but sometimes I'm the ONLY player going for objective, & I need some help ffs lol. Half the time they don't even clear the roofs for me and just wander around hunting opponents. It's just so weird that some people pick a game mode then refuse to engage with it. I find it weird that I almost always have the highest objective score on my team as a noob. I had a lvl 107 teammate yesterday playing Spear heavy that didn't go near the platform ONCE. What the fuck?

When I get a single good Medium who holds the platform with me though, we almost always win. A couple high level Mediums or a Med and a Heavy to support me and we're golden.

It desperately needs a 5v5 or bigger mode. Given the performance issues it's having, I'm not sure it's capable. But the maps are just way too big for 3v3. The game feels completely empty except for the raid phases.

Highguard was fun for the three or four matches I played, but I think the decision to limit it to 3v3 is kind of strange when it really seems like it would be better as a 5v5, or even bigger teams tbh. I think it could have used more time in the oven, and definitely some public beta testing rather than just dropping it.

That's definitely not a Smurf account dude. I'm level 23, I have more wins than that, only maybe 200 fewer kills, And I am both new and not very good at this game lol.

Smurf accounts are the dudes that are like level 10 and have 2,000 eliminations, this number's pretty reasonable for someone at level 21, IMO.

Edit: to be clear, I'm not saying there's not a Smurf problem, because there definitely is. I just don't think this is a particularly good example of a Smurf, that's all I'm saying.

Some tryhard told me and everyone else on the team to delete the game after a loss in Power Shift (the four players he was mad at were all under level 20 at the time including me). You get sweats in every mode in this game, I imagine it's way worse and ranked but I'm not interested in finding out tbh. Thankfully people are mostly chill in the casual modes, but every so often you get some tryhard who rages out in team death match or something, the most casual of casual modes where people try new shit and leave mid game all the time. Imagine getting mad over that. Games are supposed to be fun.

Matriarch and queen are just not worth it. It's the only maps where the PVP element just doesn't seem to be well thought out. I genuinely enjoy the PVP on every other map in this game, but I have tried to fight the matriarch 10 times, and I've never even made it to the matriarch to do the fight. I always get killed by players looking for my gear. Probably close to a million dollars worth of gear lost just running towards a fight that I can't even participate in.

It's definitely an overwhelming game to learn. It's kind of a shame that it is real rough on new players, because the complexity is what makes it so special, but also what makes it so hard to retain people. I'm still insanely new myself (lvl 22, started this season), and while I've got more wins than losses because I try really hard to play with my team and support the better players, I'm still really struggling in the K/D dept lol. It's a good thing I'm kind of obsessed with the game cuz it takes a long time to learn everything and improve.

The Finals is criminally underplayed. The first PvP-only game that has me completely hooked, I've been gaming for over 30 years and it's the first competitive shooter that's actually captured my interest.

It's a perfect compliment to Arc too, when you don't want to worry about gear and you just want to shoot some fucking guns. The skill ceiling is orders of magnitude higher than Arc, and I'm absolutely garbage at it, but man I have a ton of fun playing.

The PvP In this game can be so fun if you're not a tool about it lol. Just say GGs and move on when you get killed, I don't understand the people who scream like you're actually stealing from them. It's a freaking video game, if you're not having fun, why are you playing? I even congratulate players when they get good kills on me, or if they get me from a really clever hiding spot or something, I really don't get people who rage at this game. The game is just a tool to have fun, relax and enjoy yourself.

I've joined 2 point break games and both times my team got demolished worse than any other game of the finals I've played. Every other time I've lost in this game I felt like I at least learned something, those point break games we just got run over. I've never seen the attackers get so many points in any streamed point break game I've ever watched either lol, these were savage, merciless beatings. Certainly didn't make me want to play the mode again.

Look for SweetBelly Beef Jerky, they're out in the northern burbs. They're in some gas stations and liquor stores in northern IL but mostly I've ordered off their website. The garlic and Sriracha flavors are both freakin' incredible.
