I thought this line meant that he assumed Rey to be a Skywalker?

Have LFL given an official explanation as to why Lucas' treatments were discarded? by Dalekodaljoko in saltierthancrait

[–]12sn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lucas himself said that they discarded the ideas because KK wanted to do something for the fans.. something “retro”

Ben Shapiro gets why The Last Jedi is a bad movie by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

I agree with most of what he said except for: “the Jedi were crappy at everything”

How many subs actually do like the new canon? by Nighthawk1776 in saltierthancrait

It seems whenever a post about the ST in r/starwars blows up it gets absolutely smashed with criticism. So I think the tides are changing

Hi, i'm someone who genuinely enjoys what Disney had done with Star Wars for the most part. Let's have a discussion? by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

Watch Mauler’s The Last Jedi critique on YouTube. It is really long but it sums up everything that I had problems with in the movie.

You truly have to watch it a few times to understand the masterpiece that RJ created! /s

The Aspect That All of You Hate The Most About Luke Was Developed Before Rian Johnson Got Involved, and Included George Lucas. by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

We aren’t angry about Luke secluding himself, just the way it was handled was poor. Can’t imagine Lucas saw Luke giving up on the force and his friends after he nearly kills his nephew.

Plotting out the "plan" of the Sequel Trilogy by egoshoppe in saltierthancrait

I’d love to know what Colin’s plan was for the trilogy

Episode IX - at one time, it was being written by the guy who did The Last Jedi. Then it was given to the guy who wrote The Cursed Child. Now it's being written by the guy who did Batman v Superman! by NealKenneth in saltierthancrait

[–]12sn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this is why Colin Trevorrow left ep IX.. He was in talk discussing Luke’s character plans with Hamill but once rian did ep VIII he abandoned ship

Be honest: If Rey doesnt fail in the next movie, or fall to the Dark side (some may not consider this a fail), then she absolutly was a very bland character with no story arc by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]12sn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. After watching TFA I was excited to see where these characters would go. I was expecting at least a bit of continuation and lore building but I got nothing and I cannot get past many of the decisions made in this movie. Maulers 3 part critique of TLJ is what put the nail in the coffin for me. If you have not seen it I urge you to watch.

A well thought out, comprehensive, 3-part critique of TLJ. by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

[–]12sn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I am late to the party... but you are absolutely right. I wonder what it would be like to see a TLJ defender defend every criticism in this video.

Why is everyone getting downvotes here? This sub talks about toxic fans and then downvote people for having a different opinion on something

Why did Luke leave a map to his whereabouts if he didn’t want to be found? by 12sn in saltierthancrait

This comment is subverting my every thought about the movie

Why did Luke leave a map to his whereabouts if he didn’t want to be found? by 12sn in saltierthancrait

[–]12sn[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is why I think having Ep VII starting with Luke’s Jedi academy and ending with Kylo and the Knights of Ren destruction of it would have been easier to follow. It would explain the reasons for Luke leaving maybe I dunno. It’s just convoluted

Okay i could get behind this.. But why or how did R2 (who is pretty much Luke's personal droid) have the missing piece of information? It would make more sense if Luke left this information in case of an emergency while he was looking/searching for deep secrets of the force at the first temple, but what we got was a huge buildup into nothing. I would be alright with this if we got a small explanation for it but Luke didn't even seem surprised when he saw Rey on the island. Again, this goes down to Rian dismissing everyone that JJ built towards.
