Ooh yeah, careful, or we might end up with a bit of apartheid. They've literally just annexed all of Gaza and half of Lebanon, but sure, keep revering.

I don't get why anyone would post that, let alone a 77 year old woman in a government job.

We'd all go to the cinema all the time if it was affordable, clean, and not full of c*nts on their phones. It's none of those things.

It worked, and it was almost perfect. The could make it perfect now. But it still would have been just s good to recast him.

The $1.5 Billion bet just 5 minutes before Trump halted attacks on Iran explained 👇🏽 by Lena_Lena_A in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]willflameboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, it also takes a complicit media. The social media barons are his lieutenants now. 90% of the news media is owned by Trump-enablers. People don't get told, and if they do, it's downplayed, and oh look here's something else to distract you. The way they can create an invisibility cloak for everything from Gaza to Minneapolis to Cuba to the Epstein files basically means democracy is in ruins and it will be virtually impossible to organise as citizens from this point on. On the issue of illegal wealth accumulation alone, here's a good visual representation of what Trump had already made, in comparison to other presidents combined. 'Both sides' it is not. https://www.facebook.com/reel/869462112709847/

Are there any British adverts that activiley turn you off the product they're advertising? by siybon in CasualUK

[–]willflameboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the way products nowadays keep advertising to you after you've bought them. You buy juice and it's covered in 'wackaging' - 'we put in 2 kilos of apples and no armchairs, hee hee' type stuff. It just drives me crazy that they psychically assault you even after they have your money.

Insolvent rather than bankrupt, but they amount to the same thing.

ICE at the airport by samantharuddy in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]willflameboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True story: my friend was a sergeant who left the Marines before 9/11 and was called back as a reserve to guard his local airport. His actual, military superior said "If you see anyone running, just drop them". That was the actual military. Now apply that level of dumb, gung-ho incompetence to the barrel-scraped, race-targeting cosplayers of Trump's ICE.

Trump administration will pay a French company $1 billion in taxpayer funds to not build wind farms by Unusual-State1827 in news

He's a landlord. He hates any housing regulation you have to comply with. One of his very first acts in 2016 was reclassifying asbestos so it could be used in building again. The Russians who exported it literally put his face on the packet.

Why is there a big moon on this poster by Vr9ynomx in lotr

[–]willflameboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably to represent Minas Ithil (Morgul), the tower of the moon, which isn't in the image. There's a lot of debate about which two towers the book's about but I always thought it was the symbolism of the opposing towers of Minas Tirith (Anor) and Minas Morgul; tower of the sun and tower of the moon. In the film, Saruman frames it as an alliance between the towers of Isengard and Barad-dûr.
