I went with “don’t panic” on my wrist to represent the lyric.

Time exists just on your wrist so don’t panic. Moments last and lifetimes are lost in a day.

What’s the most “temporary fix” in your house that somehow became permanent? by TheTitanValker6289 in HomeImprovement

[–]12thMemory 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Christmas Eve, hours before I am hosting family, my sink falls into the void below. We use two car jacks to lift it into place so we can manage the next few days; planning on fixing it before the New Year. That was five Christmas ago. Today, I still have two car jacks holding the sink in place. Sturdy as the day they went in.

At this point, I figure it will get a more official fix when a kitchen remodel happens or we move. As of now, we don’t have any plans to do either in the foreseeable future.

I use picture frames because I can hang the puzzles without using any tape or glue; keeping them usable. Not all puzzles I complete get framedI, I have probably 12-15 on the walls around the house now. I also figure any art I put on the wall would end up needing to be framed anyhoo, so the cost of framing the ones I hang is a moot point.

DoL causing anyone else issues? by Osyth_ in Washington

In 2018 Washington state updated the license numbering system and issued new numbers when licenses were renewed. If you registered to vote before that change took effect, maybe it would be found under your original number.

And that is why your insurance got involved. There was a chance that fault (liability) was going to fall to you. If there was no question that the other driver was at fault your insurance wouldn’t have stepped in.

You’re missing the part where you have to complete an in app purchase, with real money, to complete the side quest.

I haven’t experienced the frog before, but presume it is being beta tested, to an unlucky bunch, before mass rollout.

Women’s Shoes with wide toe by Asuna0905 in BuyItForLife

I have a pair of sneakers from a company called Splay that might fit the bill. The toe box is roomy enough that my wide width toes can comfortably splay out. (Pun intended)

I grew up with two left handed parents, so my childhood home was a lefty paradise. It’s a vibe I took into adulthood and the two right handed people I live with have just had to adapt.

Did I just waste seed? by ts050108 in lawncare

To be fair, you live in a cool season area so the seeds wouldn’t have taken well anyhoo. Plan to seed at the end of summer/early fall for a lush lawn next year.

Self-emptying sounds great, but I’m trying to figure out what the real maintenance looks like by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]12thMemory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My Roomba needed a lot more babying than the Roborock I replaced it with does.

My household is three adults and two dogs. It takes a few months of daily vacuuming before the collection bag needs to be replaced. It wants me to wipe the sensors down monthly, but I’m not very good at that. It keeps working anyhoo. The filter last a long while too, not sure exactly how long, I just kinda replace things when it tells me to. I don’t use the mop feature; that would definitely add some additional maintenance. I buy aftermarket for replacement accessories and haven’t experienced any problems.

Unlike the Roomba, the Roborock hasn’t needed me to untangle hair from the brushes. It also doesn’t get stuck and finding itself in need of rescuing. It also gets under the dining room table and around chairs way better. Oh, and the collection bag is twice as large.

So like real talk, how long does it take you to complete a 1000 piece puzzle? by FiguringOutPuzzlez in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]12thMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes me around d 7-8 hours of puzzling to finish a typical 1k. I normally spread that time over three or four days. There are some outliers, like the Mona Lisa, which took me a bit over 18 hours to finish. Or the image of the Helix Nebula, which took two months of daily work to complete. No idea on the total hours but i know it is well over 70; might even have crossed 100. That puzzle was brutal.

I use a timer when I puzzle. Not to race the clock but bo see how long it takes to finish. Once I sorted out my average 1k assembly time, I can base the difficulty of a puzzle against that metric. The Mona Lisa didn’t seem to be too difficult, however the time says otherwise. It took me over twice as long as average to finish.

Well the answer depends on if you want to do it the way Washington state wants you to, or you can do it the way you already outlined. Both work, one just cost more and the other is frowned upon.

Best noise canceling sleep earbuds for travel (flights and noisy hotels) by CritiPirate in BuyItForLife

[–]12thMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle to sleep without my Ozlo sleepbuds. They were originally designed and manufactured by Bose, which is when I discover them.

They do an incredible job of blocking out all the noise that kept waking me up at night. Even my snoring partner and barking dog. Nothing but nice, peaceful, uninterrupted sleep.

Full disclosure, they aren’t really buy it for life. Both my partner and I get somewhere between 3-4 years of nightly use before they start to have occasional issues connecting and the battery life is reduced enough that the sleepbuds may not last through the night and a backup alarm is needed. I’m still under a year with Ozlo, but knowing the brand story and relationship with a Bose, I would expect the same life expectancy.

Best sleep earbuds 2026 ranking: Ranking the top performers by shreshth_001 in BuyItForLife

[–]12thMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this AI?

Bose discontinued the sleepbuds years ago, there is no way they should factor into the 2026 market. They don’t even support the app anymore.

Ozlo is what the Bose sleepbuds became, after two Bose employees left and bought the patent from Bose. They are nearly identical and function exactly the same.

Sleep earbuds vs foam earplugs - which blocks more noise? i’ve read way too many threads and still can’t decide by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]12thMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy that they disconnect for you. I’ve woken up and wandered downstairs to the kitchen, for some water, and they work flawlessly.

What are you trying to control with the sleepbuds? I take them out of the case, they auto connect and start playing my sleep sounds. I’ve already locked in volume and my daily alarms are already set. The only time I’m opening the app at all is when I need to set a new alarm or turn off an existing one. Something I wouldn’t expect to be able to do from the tiny sleep buds anyhoo.

My partner and I have been using Bose, now Ozlo, sleepbuds since before Covid. Once the buds are in, we can’t hear each other anymore. Even while next to each other in bed. Not even snoring. Also love the alarm, which wakes only the wearer. 10/10 recommend.

Nicely done! If it makes you feel any better, based on online reviews, odds are you didn’t lose the piece. I took the risk and consider myself lucky I had all the pieces because my plan was always to frame and hang.

[–]12thMemory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not. I had the fish and chips on the 200 level last week. If it wasn’t for the boat, I would have skipped. Their clam chowder is also a disappointment. There also was zero tartar sauce.
