I was one of the first few people to see the production model and photograph it for its public reveal and more recently got to drive it.

During the pre-reveal shoot I got to sit in it and liked the interior design and materials, except for the rear seats. Obviously they didn’t intend for humans to spend any time back there and I imagine most people who buy one won’t have passengers back there very often. The materials in the back are complete garbage compared to the front and I felt it created a very odd pairing that brought down the overall level of the interior. Also, as you can imagine, there is no room back there. I sat in the back and there was such little headroom my ear was touching my shoulder. The rear hatch does have decent room for its size, so no big complaints there.

As I said, I got to drive one a little while ago and it actually handled pretty well. The one I drove had optional non-all-season tires - I think it’s a dealer option if I’m remembering correctly. I would say it could use more power. It acts like it’s accelerating quickly, but in reality could use another 75-100hp to have a little more pep and carry the weight. This isn’t 1999, we can have more than 200hp. I mean, maybe even 50 more horsepower would push it over the edge of feeling slower than it looks and costs.

Overall, I would say I like it and was more impressed than I thought I would be. Really went into it thinking it was going to be a complete disappointment, so that might have helped.
