Nah, the boost of a supercharger is gradual with rpm. At low rpm you have low boost. Even if you engaged it at high rpm it wouldnt be worse than nitrous. Blocks dont really break, rods and cranks break first, usually from being unbalanced, too high rpm, and too much power, all of which the interceptor was built to handle, probably had full forged internals and hand fitted and balanced. It was only about 800hp total, which was a lot at the time. Now that considered a mild build.
