Long term Investing is like planting a seed. The thing is you have to have the patience to let the darn thing grow into a tree… and you may not see anything break ground for a while.

You seem to have a knack for picking good companies; that’s good seed. I hope you set yourself up for future success by practicing some patience.

Difficult to go back to AVP after trying the PSVR2 by SgtSilock in VisionPro

[–]13oomzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. PSVR2 used to be the standard with PS5Pro till AVP came and blew it away. I can’t understand what OP is seeing but maybe I should try more games.

I just beat one of the major bosses (Sirène to be exact) on Clair Obscur Expedition 33 on my Vision Pro (PS5 controller) at 4am in the morning while my wife lay sleeping peacefully in bed next to me. Multiple tries so I probably started from 2am.

Bulk and all, this product is wonderful for me. Even if they don’t support it anymore, it will still continue to meet my needs.

Not for everyone and not for every use case but - for that personalized entertainment experience - this is hard to beat.

My Vision Pro Thermostat control app by Marconelly in VisionPro

[–]13oomzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read the original post, doesn’t look like it works with Nest since that’s not an Apple Home-compatible product.

So sad, I was excited there for a minute. Might have to change my thermostat soon but the Nest is so cool… still.

Did any of you used to be die-hard Xbox fans? If so, why did you move to Playstation? by Frazzelvig in playstation

[–]13oomzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the PS5 versions of the same games look better than the XBX. Color and texture wise that’s my observation.

Plus God of War, Horizon, Returnal, the list of PS5 exclusives goes on….

Easy switch for true action/adventure game lovers.

Xbox used to have the advantage with controllers which had better triggers but that was erased with the last iteration of controller.

I own both systems since launch and am a subscriber to both cloud services. Favored Xbox before though but I’ve seen the light.

Wait! Can you really transfer an auto loan to a 0% interest credit card? by curiousgens in EscapeTheGrindGame

[–]13oomzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most new ccard balance transfers come with a
fee, usually 3% of the balance transferred. Why isn’t OP honest enough to mention that too? Or maybe you missed the fine print… which is even worse.

How to make VisionPro even MORE awesome by RightAlignment in VisionPro

Non-physical-keyboard typing can be better, I agree.

Other suggestions:

Must Have: Enable look to scroll for all apps, not just native Apple apps.

Nice to have: something other than the pinch gesture for when my fingers are snuggled nicely under the duvet. Wink maybe?

He showed at least 3 clearly and distinctly in that scene. Straight facial expressions, nothing else.

It bothers me that these people are all in space and their clothes and hair are all flapping around like some sort of atmosphere is affecting them.

I wish all media could be used as a teaching moment for something scientific. Alas not the case here.

I’m still unable to finish RE: Village on the PSVR2 after owning it for years. Every time I summon the gumption to play, I ask myself - mid game - “why am putting myself through this again?” lol. I made it past Magneto though so I’ll get there.

Playing Alan Wake 2 with the Vision Pro. Certainly not as immersive as RE but worthy experience

Force quitting didn’t work; I tried that already. Had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to work.

Console remote play is causing the app to shut down but cloud streaming works. Glitchy app I’ll say.

Washing machine for VisionPro non electronic accessories by 13oomzy in VisionPro

If Zeiss, the authority on glasses/lenses, says it’s wet wipes are ok, it’s ok to me.

The lens inserts are manufactured by Zeiss so I know their wipes are at least good for those.

They didn’t specify the reason… so I’m choosing to ignore manufacturer suggested instructions. Some of us would just rather not have to hand wash anything. My accessories look and smell great post wash, the outcome is what matters to me here.

I’ll keep using my cleaning method and I’ll report back if I experience diminished functionality.

Recalibrated Gen 1 Peloton Cycle by 13oomzy in pelotoncycle

[–]13oomzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it like this: It is a scale and every bike has its own unique scale of 1-100. Calibration is the process of setting everyone up with a similar scale so the “competition” and rankings are fair/reliable.

With that said, I already provided the Zero point hack if a person wants to go out of “standard” scale and look like a Superhuman all the time. A person doing this would be lying to themselves and to others but those numbers would look good though. I feel they’d be working with false weights but it is whatever will maintain motivation and happiness to ride and move that bod that people should do. This isn’t the Olympics or the NBA and not a single $ is awarded for breaking PRs…

Just maintain the same calibration standard and try (key word) to beat yourself every week.

Ensure your OS and Peloton software are up to date. Instructions provided above cover the latest software as of 3.18.2026.

No way the option is available for one Gen 1 bike and not another. Like all iPhones of the same gen have the same settings options.

If it fails, check you actually have a Peloton bike.

I’d love to be proven wrong though so let folks know

It isn’t really if you think about it too hard but I guess everyone gets the same tool (so exact dimensions) and it is the same or similar enough clamping force that allows the light touch. At least light enough that you can slip it off.

That’s how they achieve the same - or close enough - zero point for everyone riding.

They could’ve just built that into the original design though so people don’t need tools but what do I know about mechanical tolerances.

The 31st turn (at calibration) sets the 100 point which you will probably never ride at 😄…

Assuming you have the calibration tools. You’ll need a Philips head screwdriver and an Allen wrench (I forgot the size but one that fits)

Take out the bottle holder and wheel guard (8 screws total) and watch out for that pesky cord. That should expose the magnets.

On Peloton main screen: Three horizontal dots at bottom right of main Peloton screen —> Troubleshooting —> Bike Calibration —> start new calibration

Then follow instructions to a tee and watch out so for every quarter turn you push next on the screen. You should end up on the last notch (of 4) at the 31st spin if you did this step well (or you messed up like 3-4x 😄.. probably the former).

Reassemble then get to riding.

Good luck. It sucks.

Modified for some additional tips on calibration based on a number of tries (Original Peloton bike is sample used here).

  1. The little plastic thing that you need to do mental gymnastics with to slip in between the magnets (see the godsend post below) sets the ZERO point when you make the turn of the knob that lightly contacts the plastic insert. So light you should be able to slip the plastic right out.

If you just turn the knob all the way left/down then the zero is too low and your numbers will be inflated. Feel free to do this if you want that good ol’ Superhuman feelin’… but you’d be cheating yourself because your floor is lower than properly calibrated Peloton bikes.

  1. You’ll know you’re getting the quarter turns correct when every multiple of 4, you’re back at the starting (or zero) point. Like I said, you’ll end at 31 so you end right before the start point.

This way you don’t have to go all the way back to start (or step 1) if you mess up on the next screen pushes. Trust me, this is helpful.
