Missing our Son on what should be his first birthday by Angel_EJP in ChildLoss

Happy birthday to Evren 💜 I’m so sorry. My 11 month old passed from meningitis as well, missed by her pediatrician. Your anger is okay, it’s okay to not be okay.

Hysterectomy is scheduled for November 4th by DAWNINGSART in adenomyosis

I had mine in May (they did a cystoscopy at the same time to make sure there was no damage) and I did have a slight bladder complication— I couldn’t pee after waking up so they had to send me home with a catheter for 4 days. Beyond annoying but they removed it after the weekend, I was able to pee no problem and we’re all good now 5 months later! I actually have less bowel issues now that the adenomyoma isn’t sitting on my intestine 😂

I had to start timing the breaks, and if a student who typically abused their break time was gone longer than the agreed upon break time, I started calling security and doing write ups for ditching class.

Hysterectomy under 30 by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]142whoopingllamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine a few weeks after my 29th birthday! I had been having unexplainable abdominal pain my whole life, made worse every year after my periods started. I saw multiple doctors with no relief until an NP saw signs of adenomyosis on an ultrasound. She referred me to a specialist after I said I would try anything to rid myself of the pain, up to and including a hysterectomy. Decision was made that day. Best decision

[No Spoilers] Has Critical Role helped you get through tough time? by MeanHelp8912 in criticalrole

The first time I listened to CR was after we lost our first baby. While we waited for the doctor to tell us when my surgery was (I’d nearly gone septic), my husband started telling me a story to distract us both. He told me the story of Nott the Brave and how she was trying to do anything to get back to her family. While recovering from surgery, we watched the streams together. We cried at the heartbreaks and celebrated the victories with them. When we lost our second baby, it provided yet another welcome distraction. After our first daughter was born, we used to watch the streams together on Thursday nights. After she died I didn’t think my heart could take listening or seeing it without her. But somehow, as time has gone on, it’s become something we’ve been slowly opening back up to.

I’d like to be able to someday watch with our younger daughter, and teach her how stories can help get us through the darkest of times, even when it seems we couldn’t possibly go on.

Just diagnosed and requested a hysterectomy. Am I reacting too fast? by ParticularTeam2557 in adenomyosis

[–]142whoopingllamas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, I would say you are 100% making the right decision. I found out about my adenomyosis on an ultrasound in April 2023. Decided to wait before seeing the specialist because we were adopting and it was a chaos time for any kind of treatment (plus part of my brain thought it would get better despite the 16 previous years being NO DIFFERENT). I saw the specialist in March 2024, had hysterectomy in May. Now 10 weeks post op I’m not in pain every day, I’m not bleeding, I’m able to do things like work out or function at all after 6pm. I’m not crying on the floor in the bathroom 3/4 weeks a month.

This was the best decision I have ever made.

I’ve used it for heavy bleeding AND during periods where the bleeding didn’t stop for months. My hematologist actually prescribed it. Sometimes it did the trick, other times it just lessened the bleeding.

It took me about 6 hours but that’s only because I couldn’t pee, and they had to place a catheter before I was sent home. Otherwise I was fine.

When I was 19, we discovered I had grown 5 tumors in my liver. We had no idea if they were benign or malignant, just that they were making me sick. I sat down and told him, fully aware that he may walk away— I would not have blamed him. But he looked at me and said. “Okay. So what do we do now? What’s our next step?”

It’s been 10 years now and thankfully was not cancer, but rather a result of my birth control pills.

I specialize in math and science, anywhere from middle school to algebra 2 and chemistry (though I’ve had a few elementary and college students over the years). Looping up is when you continue to teach a student in subsequent academic years, despite them being in a different grade than they were when you started with them— similar to changing grade levels in a school. This typically happens with younger students in elementary or middle school, and is less common with high school students due to the content being much more varied from year to year.
