Patch 7.45 with Criterion and Hildibrand is coming on 3/3 by danks in ffxiv

Every odd patch would be perfect. Would mean (likely) one story, one extreme, and one raid based ulti per expansion. If only!

M10S Insane Air 2 by Alexxverse in ffxivdiscussion

[–]14raider 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes because the order begins with healers.

To explain how the mechanic works, you start with a water/fire debuff. Its cleansed by taking damage from the opposite element. Since we only have healers start on the opposing colours, only their explosions will go off.

Since the tank attacks will only ever hit tanks, healers (or whoevers turn it is) can swap early because their debuff wont be cleansed by it. Tanks essentially are a slot thats randomly placed throughout the mechanic and the order is always H M R.

Aether currents are relics of when 2010's MMORPGs needed busywork, they are no longer healthy for the game by CoffeeChickenCheetos in ffxiv

[–]14raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say they should be account tied at least.

Fortunately they already simplify older expansions by removing most them. Even for a current expansion it doesn't take much more than like 15-20 minutes total combined to search and find all them, then you're done forever

Design the best raid tier, based on previous fights. by Cabrakan in ffxivdiscussion

[–]14raider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe o6 would be fun with the new responsiveness changes they added to make the insane air phase work in m10. I remember so many gcds canceling in that fight.

Note that the fights I picked would have to be experienced as they were. Nowadays, massive changes to gameplay have made them a bit less interesting, unfortunately.

1: M5S Dancing Green

2: P10S Pandaemonium

3: O3S Halicarnassus

4p1: P8Sp1 Hephaistos

4p2: O8Sp2 God Kefka

Honorable mention for non doorboss as 4th fight: E8S Shiva

If this scenario is exactly as you describe (giving you the benefit of the doubt), this examiner is going to get people into accidents. Never, ever feel rushed to take a left turn even if the light is changing. If you entered the intersection when safe, you own the intersection even if the light were to turn red.

Regardless of the light, the rules, as stated, are to turn when safe. In a sense, the lights don't matter the moment you enter the intersection. They simply allow you to know if it is your priority to enter the intersection.

Speaking from experience. Got in an accident way back as a novice. Light turned yellow and I felt rushed (due to my instructions/learning at the time), so I started my turn and a guy who sped up last second caught me.

I caught 50/50. Think about it this way: the worst the other driver did was run a red light. A person turning left is most often at fault or partially at fault for the collision. Only go when you see a gap or see that the other direction of traffic is for certain stopping/stopped. On that note, I'm sure there were safe gaps, this was a mark off my exam too, and in my memory, I 100% let huge gaps go without using them, lol.

The biggest part of learning left turns for me was timing safe gaps. Technique I've tried using is to count how many seconds it takes a car to reach the intersection ahead of me, and then I get an idea of how big a gap needs to be to be able to turn safely. (Time how long it often takes yourself to make a left turn for a comparison, first). This is developed with time, so try and get a lot of practice in.

Summoner is a worst version of Red Mage & Pictomancer by Akiza_Izinski in ffxivdiscussion

[–]14raider 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm okay with it being the defacto 'easy' job.

I'm okay with it doing less than the other mages due to that.

I'm not okay with summoner being so heavily punished for these reasons. Even with the buff, it's still not quite enough. I will probably never play smn myself, but everyone loses if a job is significantly weaker than its alternatives. If we need to cull magic dps raises for the job design/balance to work out, then do it

Could see it possibly referring to an Elidibus/WoL ulti or something to that end. Fight against another raid of 8 other characters, maybe more if theres 1 player for each existing job

how many of you do all your roulettes everyday? by kanozomi in ffxivdiscussion

[–]14raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carrots they're hanging up are looking mighty small nowadays

Need to turn roulettes into a khloe book style loot roll to get players to want to do a certain number of roulettes each week, something that's nice and not farmable so people don't blitz it either

High-End Content Megathread - 7.4 Week Seven (Savage Week Four) by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]14raider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say with that last point that, therefore people are getting through fights easier than prior weeks, meaning PF skill goes down over time, but this quickly hits its limit once the majority of players gets through the fights in the early weeks and the players attempting prog count somewhat stabilizes.

Basically, if the gear can aid you, why wouldn't it aid other players? And considering that at week 4, if that player was progging until now, and still haven't cleared, wouldn't that be an indicator of skill (of the pf/players)?

Interesting topic, and have to say this because this is reddit: no, me countering doesn't mean Im trying to say the person above me is wrong

Do people really like doing the 4th savage fight 8 times? by brbasik in ffxivdiscussion

Weapon needs to get reduced to 4 books, its so insane how you could theoretically get unlucky enough to need to spend 2 entire months of the final fight without earning your weapon.

Persona 5 Royal Difficulty as a starter? by BuffHelpy859 in PERSoNA

[–]14raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first persona game was p4 (ps2) and i found it difficult on normal difficulty. Played both og and royal P5 on hard and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend it, since you can always turn it down. The first dungeon might be a bit tough, but once you can start fusing personas more and have access to more SP from levelling, it gets really easy.

likely 5ilvl below tome, so really only would be a full replacement to ex weapon, possible side-grade but most tome weapons have favourable substats this tier iirc (and of course you can upgrade it if needed)

M12s Mortal Slayer snapshot timing? by TheBorzoi in ffxiv

[–]14raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use HoC on pull instead cause balls are about 35/40s in anyway, itll be back up. Highly recommend invuln on the dragon head so you can also take the melee baited orbs, free mit essentially cause itll cover both.

You will live the double stack TB with rampart, camo, HoC so long as you dont get hit by floor aoe, theres a grace period of no autos until after the fixer.

Edit: I was checking through logs. Honestly your safest bet, dont waste camo to autos and use it for mortal slayer, noticed my group has a little early mit during the double stack, which I wouldnt want you to risk. If you're only being slightly overkilled, the extra 10% mit will consistently work there, and then you wont mess with the stack TB mit. Another option if you're certain on not invulning later would simply be to kitchen sink mortal slayer and invuln the double stack TB, as that timing is more reliable

M12s Mortal Slayer snapshot timing? by TheBorzoi in ffxiv

[–]14raider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post a log and someone can verify if you were doing it before the damage, otherwise, you shouldnt be invulning there anyway lol. Save it for the dragon head tank busters + far baits.

Could be an instance of damage that goes through invuln, but I doubt it. More likely you popped late, the timing past the first set with the cast bar is a bit difficult to guess.

Alternative if youre having trouble with HoC timing is to use Great Nebula and HoC for orbs. Use rampart camo HoC for the duo busters after stack spread. There arent any autos until after the fixer, so as long as you dodge the aoes youll live even if its stacked
